I thought that I should start my own spotting thread, instead of riding other peoples. Obviously, most of my spots are here in that there Laaandaaan.

I`m not a car snob, inverted or otherwise, so there`ll be a mixture of retro`s, classics, basic to exotic, dumped, scrap, weird & rare stuff including the odd modern now & then, should be something for everyone.

Some rare stuff in there, linke an Anglia on the road! Like the early CRX too. Unusual high roof on that Rascal!

(Just a suggestion, maybe only a few pics per post, makes it easier to refer to them)

That Alpine white 740i is a great spot. Rare color, correct engine and low miles! No mot for 2 years now though.

Yeah, I just decided to hammer it on the first post to see how it would be received! This is the main ones worthy of note from the last couple of months.

I suspect that Rascals wearing the roof from another Kei, maybe a Sumo or Sunbar?

It certainly seems to be a one-off, there's quite a few pics of it online but none of any others like it that I can see.

Good stuff. Always good spots to be found here in the smoke. Does scare me slightly that a good 50% of those fall under ulez regs. Much as ive never liked age inappropriate black and silver plates Im lead to believe they don't get picked up on anpr...

Amazingly, a number of these are actually inside the current ULEZ, so the owners have chosen to stump up the £12.50 a day, rather than get into some shitty lease deal, or suck up a catastrophic depreciation curve, which, if you only use it once or twice a week, makes some degree of sense..

(& black & silvers on cars that would have never had them new, irk me greatly too).

Ok, when I decided to start this thread, I told myself I`d update it at least weekly, have I? Nope.. I havent been driving much recently, and I didnt think I`d taken that many, so I left it, & now, I`ve got a fair amount, so I`ll do another photo drop..

Again, a lot of these arent ULEZ compliant & are in the extension.

Just do another post selecting from the first one that did not get uploaded from your file.

I`ll give it a go, I`m not sure if it cut at a specific point  (did it at last upload as well).

Edit: it does appear to have chopped it at a specific point.

Yeah, but I`m glad they haven't been!

As expected quite a lot of familiar cars there, I'm so glad you've got pictures for posterity!

I wondered how long it`d take you to see it! I am trying to document all the ULEZ compliant stuff I can before theey start dropping off the radar, although, with 2 weeks to go till D-Day, I`d imagine loads have already been cubed..

Was I on Plantagenet Road? That photo shows up the differing headlights, one was from an earlier Bluebird. A shame, I miss that car...

Looking through again there's lots which I go "ah I know exactly where that is" and a whole bunch more that I recognise even if I couldn't say the location off the top of my head... The M-reg Mk1 Mondeo and the two rovers, I used to live around the corner from and pass daily. When I first moved there, there was so many old bangers around, sadly much depleted.

There's still a fair few that I see around. One of my neighbours has a G-reg Merc saloon, somewhat battered, (my lack of knowledge of Mercs shows in that I have no idea what it is) and still uses it regularly. A J-reg Honda that used to live off Bells Hill has gone, but appeared at FoTU so would appear to be in safe hands now.

It was, yeah, right on the bend, so you took me unawares! (which is why the pic is a dashcam still rather than a proper picture).

Yes, I hear that the  Civic Shuttle was sold on, there's still numerous 90`s cars round there (well, pretty much everywhere), mostly Japanese or German, as well as stuff like that Mondeo, which aren't compliant, mostly belonging to OAP`s who dont use them one week to the next, mostly with low miles, & as many refuse to deal with the selling of their cars, the majority will just call Redcorn & scrap them, so many, many cars will get cubed in the coming 2 weeks (sorry to go on about it, it is really upsetting for me, as it is for many of them, I`m sure).

Oh, & that white J-plate white Mini at the end of my second batch, it belongs to a frail lady who`s in at least her 80`s, has owned it for over 20 years, loves it very much & keeps it mint (apparently I`m 37th in line when she decides to sell it!). Her bungalow is very outdated (the front door is barely hanging on), I don't think she`s got much disposable cash for a new car, & like many OAP`s, I doubt she`d be able to handle the tech on most new cars either. She`s just outside the new ULEZ border but comes into at least once a week, so she`s directly affected, but, because she`s outside the zone, she`s not eligible for any benefits or help..

Also, I`d imagine driving that Mini is the most vigorous exercise she gets too, so her fitness levels are likely to drop once she`s replaced it with an easy to drive Yaris or whatever, & then what..  Its all these things the decision makers don't seem to consider, or do, & then deem victims like her an acceptable level of attrition, which pisses me off enormously..

An update drop (I`ve kinda lost were I was.. Dont think theres any duplicates here, if there is, sorry!).

ULEZ has now expanded since my last post, & as you can see, there's a fair amount of non-compliance... 😁

Apparently, 13,000 cars have already gone through the ULEZ scrappage scheme, with a further 15,000 waiting to go through, so some of these may have already succumbed to the grabber.. 😐

While I took the picture of 2 white GP`s in front of me (from my black 500), there was another white GP behind me (below)

Liked for pictures of cars, not the action of stupid politicians.

These have been scrapped since I saw them, over the last 3 months.. The K10 cant have gone through ULEZ scrappage as it had been sat for years (scrappage probably was the final straw for the owner though), the rest were road legal & most are still technically MOT`d, so likely went through scrappage.

Also, quite a few of them have been re-sold in the last 2 months since I spotted them, including, thankfully, the shonky Vauxhall racing pink Mk2 Astra estate, which would have probably struggled to get £2k on the open market.

Also, the X-plate (X36GLF) Micra in the last batch, despite being Euro 2 & registered in 2000, IS somehow ULEZ compliant, which is a bit baffling, as everything registered pre March 2001 is automatically not compliant.... Maybe the owners got compliance paperwork directly from Nissan? If so, at what point were Micra`s (& others) compliant, & how easy is the process.. 🧐

From the thread title, I thought this might be dedicated to spots of wild Senators. I found one earlier this week but was driving too slowly* to photograph it so here's a Google image. Bonus Mog and mouldy Convoy with a red nose.

😂 Its not, its just the name I chose for car forums back in the early naughty's (as I had a load of Vauxhall Senators at the time), but I appreciate your contribution anyway, I mean, who doesnt love a Senator?

I certainly do, had a nice racing gold 2.6 until I sold it to some LADS, that then tried to rob a petrol station before setting it on fire. 🚒
