Some would regard what I'd like to do with this as a shocking waste... but the grin it would put on my chops would be worth all of that.

Yes I know Quincy's car was a Ford (or an AMC, depending which season...) but the vast majority of the UK public wouldn't know or care.

I have an irrational hatred of “ tribute “ cars……😱 but I can see the appeal. The Olds will have the front bumper tidied up, the wheels powder coated black, and that’s about it

Fair enough!  I'm sure it'll be lovely.  It's an Oldsmobile, it has a considerable head start there!

Are you going to get dog dishes? Plz get dog dishes, ideally comedy ones with springs behind that fly off when roundabouts are attacked too fast.

I don’t think “ attacking “ roundabouts was a primary concern when this was designed….but said eating reseptacles are included…..

Cor just look at that!  Isn't it a Custom Cruiser though?  Vista was only on the A-body I thought, but I could be catastrofically wrong as usual

Saw one of those float by at speed recently, while walking in Fareham.  Pretty sure it was the Olds and had the 'woody' effort stickers.  Jaw drop moment, but Wife and daughter were not even remotely interested.

It’s the quietest V8 I’ve ever heard, just a gentle murmur……

Most post-smog vehicles were real quiet. America went through a "silent is luxury" phase round about when this was built.

I appear to have been gazumped…. Left a £500 deposit on this last Friday, was going to collect this Friday. Without warning, deposit returned, and brief txt to say “ seller had changed his mind”

The hunt resumes…

Widening the search now….would consider British/ foreign filth of an elderly and comfortable disposition

Ooh that's lovely!  I have a big soft-spot for those.

Aren't they just. A bit big for my garage otherwise its only in Manchester so I could've been tempted myself.

BIG???????  How tiny is your garage if there isn't room for a Cortina-size car?

Posted

I had one in the eighties…. Comfort not a strong suit. Apparently, Mathewson’s have a seventies Toyota Crown in the next sale….. no photos yet, unfortunately
