Well done FD !If you need a replacement clock / computer, we have one spare (That's if 2000E Sapphire ones are the same !)It brings back memories of the Old Mans 2000E actually.

That's lovely. Best colour, best trim. For ultimate jealousy bonus points, does it have A/C?

sorry no acnot scrappage strictly, but the scrappage deal got him in,but he did not qualify.good.

What the! That is so lovely, looks really good as well. So tell me, whats the plan?

Posted

btw i will park it better on wednesday when i see it in the daylight next.lowered too much so catches at the front, and has a miss fire.wish i had a rake in my scrappage sierras for odds and ends, including the boot packs, need to decode the radio aswell.

Amazing.

I cannot imagine anyone walking into any showroom with scrappaging a Sierra Cosworth* on the scheme. Even the worst, rattiest, chaved & thrashed ones are well over the £2k offer.

What's the plan??**

* Unless its a rep

** I'd love to own one! If some promising-looking contracts come in, I might be in a position to make that reality, unless the above point applies...

Don't Ford stereos respond well to being left overnight in the freezer?

Posted

That is bloody lovely! I was only saying to the wife yesterday how i'd love another Sierra. So spill the beans then, what is it? A geniue Cossie or a rep? And being nosey how much was it!

Posted

not a rep!!!!!plan = fix the miss fire, smoke about the summer then sell, but money talks so you never know.btw it was a decent chunk over 2k

PM whitevanman, he has the ford radio decoder and will no doubt send you it, you can get them for 50p off ebay.I've got it too but its on my old PC and i cant be arsed hooking it up  Amazed that the guy was interested in using that on the scrappage deal, I've always wanted one but they still seem to fetch well over £2K. Whats the plans.. keep or sell?

Posted

more pics on thursday.its also a 4x4 if the bonnet vents did not give it away.

Posted

hopefully!,as i did have to get my hands a bit deeper into my pockets than i would have prefered, whats the story with the ford radio decoder?

Posted

its a piece of piss..all you do is type the serial number off the side of the unit into the decoder and voila one code.As i say whitevanman is usually happy to send out copies of it if you need one, its not a big file, or do a search for "ford radio decoder" on ebay and youll get one sub quid.

Posted

no probs, the cars not perfect by a long way,but totally solid underneath, and has had a fair bit cash spent on it at one time.

Posted

I have a decoder at home on my pc and the link in the favorites, i'll post it on here in the morning if WVM hasn't already.Like Dave said, just pull out the stereo and enter the M number on the side into the program.

isn't this exactly what a certain someone is looking for to blezz over to Czech in.....? nice save FD, though i'm curious as to why it didn't qualify for s*******e? Glad it didn't though...

Posted

it was the other car in the deal that was scrappage, but the deal changed and we took this in aswell.

That's excellent! looks relatively unmolested too - dang good save. Not surprised they're rare - so many ended up in fields on their roofs due to being driven like spazzes by spazzes.I saw one of these on the road in Glasgow last year (sure it was also maroon)But when did anyone last see an Escort RS Cosworth on the road?

Posted

That really is nice. When you said "he didn't qualify for scrappage" thought you were going to say it's a CAT C or something.A lad up the road scrappaged his Spaxo which was both Cat C and Barried and found most dealers wouldn't take it due to being on the hit list.

Posted

Very impressed with this. I am still slightly surprised that they're somewhat affordable - good ones for about £5k I reckon. Did you spend anywhere near that?

Have you not noticed that I've bought something that's almost perfect for 'blezzing' over to Czech in? Perfect other than not having a towbar, or being capable of decent MPG... :PI like Cosworths, but I love V8s.

Hey fiatdaft, this wasn't parked up round that back of a certain Scottish based motor dealers new Cumbria premises was it?Cos there was a Cosworth there about six weeks back that was tidy but out of tax which has since 'gone'....
