richardmorris Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I have seen some episodes on YouTube. Mechanically seems ok, not sure business acumen is there!
Spiny Norman Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I've given up on it. Two series in and it's still at the 'We're just starting out, we're a bit clueless. we need work, will we go bust?' stage. Frankly I was hoping for more. I'll watch May play with train sets before I watch any more of this shite.

Doesn’t need to be. “Oh no! the new workshop has cost £200k and I only budgeted £20k. Oh wait , I’ve got £35m in the bank “. chadders, De Selby and Banger Kenny 1 2
Jazoli Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Its more of a Gas Monkey setup, it's all done purely for TV and the TV show that is the smallest cog, I'm sure Hammond is being paid far more for the show than the outgoings on the 'shop'.

I assume this is the same with Clarksons Farm etc. Have seen a bit on YouTube but I'd rather watch something going into a bit more detail tbh
MiniMinorMk3 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Yes far too much fake drama and not enough actual car stuff. With the amount of times members of Hammonds family are on the show perhaps it should have a different name.
Aston Martin Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 The fact that Clarkson and May get as many Amazon shows as they want and Hammond has to go to Discovery Plus should tell you everything.
colino Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 So he has a repair centre to call his own, a team to fix things when he breaks things and can't be bothered, generates income by selling a series, and just a reminder, you pay tax on profits, not turnover. What a terrible situation to be in.
Low Horatio gearbox Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Ehhhh .. no Far roo much choice on the tube for car repair/renovation etc, stuff that's way better and less manufactured drama/fluff and actual content - tbh usually some seriously more entertaining and interesting stuff for free on YT. Carlosfandango and tooSavvy 1 1
fatharris Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 To be honest, after struggling to watch two episodes of 'The Great Escapists', I'm not surprised that Amazon haven't picked him up for further shows. Utter shite. I don't have Discovery or owt like that, but I would give it a go.
sheffcortinacentre Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Never heard of it & looks to be more we'll lose the shop bollocks
