Just sorting through some boxes and found this magazine....the fezza was registered 24th march 1977 and was off the road by March 1985!

And I'd forgotten about these, what a lovely thing. I remember seeing one in the TVR garage in Fernhurst nr Haslemere years ago..

I assume whoever won it realised what a twat ther looked like driving around in an airbrushed fezza and scrapped it. Took them ten years mind, but there's no accounting for taste I suppose. As for Broadspeed GTs, I love 'em, so much better looking than a normal mini, and probably my second fave Mini-based thing after the Unipower GT. IIRC they only made about 50 and they are now worth megabucks, but there are lots of replicas about too.

That broadspeed looks amazing !As for the Fiesta ... What the hell were they thinking ?Extra respect for it being a seriously low spec

There was one of those Broadspeed GTs at Goodwood last year. I thought the restyle really worked quit nicely.

This was a bit more extreme though...

It does look pretty terrible, but I wouldnt have said no to it back then. Another thing I find with some Magazines, street machine in particular, is that some of the cars with massive features didnt even last to the end of the year, which is shocking. Also, they built that T-Bucket, and I seem to remember it didnt even last 2 years! What happened to that?!

I foolishly, when buying my first car, bought a 1275GT over an Ogle SX.The SX is one of my favourite Mini creations.

They look OK!

Think the Mini is best left as the Mini. Think that first GT shape just doesn't look right, the front end is too small.

The Broadspeed is new to me. Its a cracking looking little thing.

I found out the existence of the Broadspeed recently in the manner I often do - through a model car!

Is it just me, or can anyone else see an Allegro coupe in this one?

Ah, thats a bit harsh - all 'custom cars' had air brush work like that in the 70's.And 77 to 85 is only 8 years, like having an 02 car now which seems very new to me.

I've never seen a Broadspeed Mini before, that does indeed look cracking. How did something like that not take off with all the interest in sporting Minis of the day? I first saw a pic of an Ogle Mini in Mark Steward's book. It looks pretty unusual and I like it for that!

What the long squashed one? I can't remember and the event programme doesn't say but if you try searching for Goodwood concours Minis you might be able to find out. :?

These are the other photos I took of those cars that day.

Only noticed while getting these online that the Ogle and the Broadspeed both use the same rear lights - from a Sunbeam Rapier.
