Wow that is a beauty. I might relive my youth one day by getting one of those and using it as a daily, expressing great surprise when no-one ever wants to travel with me in it.

Ital van is splendid, still has supercover sticker in the windscreen!Seems a bit pricey though...

Oh god that Ital is the twin of the one i knew when i was 15-16 and still dream about today.A chap i had a a Saturday job with for years brought A41 SHK with 41k on it in the same colour as that one from a Auction, It belonged to a Clacton Plumbers who had gone bankrupt.I had the job of clearing out all the old gear and moldy sandwiches from it, He use to drive me home in it along the back roads at night as it had no mot, All it needed was a plate on the passenger floor to pass.Sadly he never got round to fixing it and it just rotted away in a bush in the end, Such a waste.

I would love that Ital van. I would fill it with with tools, odd bits of wood and tins of paint. then I would wear green overalls and spend my days doing 'odd jobs' for bored, middle-class housewives....Well, I can dream, can't I...?

My dad had an Ital van from new.. I remember nearly pissing myself when he brought it home! So exciting! It provided many years of reliable transport untl he eventually sold it for spares to a couple of lads. I would have had it but I was only about 11 at the time. A789 XOE. I would love to own one one day. That blue one may be pricey but if its grot free then its worth every penny.A remember about 2 years ago there was a new ital van shell on the bay, no idea what happened to it though.

Black bumper 620s are very rare, I think they only lasted a year. I believe they're fitted with a 115bhp version of the Honda F20 engine.

hey this looks nice, blacked-out sills notwithstanding.

in many respects is close to being one of a very few left in the country

Wow, really?
The wankshaft also said 'I am not setting a reserve neither do i want people asking for a buy now price, but if it does not reach a reasonable price or I receive an offer from other adverts I reserve the right to remove the car from this auction.'

Almost pointless bidding then because if he doesn't like the end price he won't let it go. Tit.

They also made a 618i base model as well with keep fit windows which must of been pretty dire.I remember getting a few of them came in to have the bumpers body coloured by garages who where trying to tart them up for the masses.I think the 618i replaced the 620i but it was just called a 600.

I'm sure the 618i didn't come until a bit later, and would have had body-coloured bumpers.Rover dropped the engine size based badging on all their cars around 95/96.

So the only black-bumper ones are 620s?And, are there two versions of the honda 2.0 engines in them?

Was the basic 620i's a 8v? I really can't remember as It's been so long but i remember them being pretty rotten to drive and them alway having rusty rear arches due to a rubber weather strip that was attached to the lip.And they always seemed to be in British Racing Green with a really horrid orangey cream dash and interior, i was never a fan.The 623i on the other hand was a much nicer car.

16v SOHC, a downtuned version of the F20 engine available in 130bhp form in more expensive 620s ('Si' on).

I've only tried the 130bhp version in Honda Accords, and it's a honey of an engine as far as 4-pots go, not as much of a honey as the H23 used in Rover 623s though.

Speaking of Rover 600s, I'm thinking of buying this minty special - it's getting perilously close to my budget though.
