This guys adverts are joy to behold, whatever it is he's selling. He must go to town with the photos, i've never managed to get an interior pic that even looks 10% as good as this.

I've met him, he's a nice bloke [although describing a '60s Vauxhall as having "coachwork" is a little over the top]

and his write up is full of shite ... I like the doctors pictures but in this case he has selectively ignored the nasty bits of the front wings.. Frankly its up at £3500 already which its twice its book price and he want £5k because a MK1 escort is worth twice that....

I was looking at the sellers advert form may 2010 and he mentions a repaint:

Fortunately for myself a good friend is a sprayer and stripped the car down and totally resprayed the car in the original colour.

Our Doctor opens his dictionary and comes out with :

Consequently when the third owner decided to have the paintwork completely refreshed to rectify the discoloured paint and odd blemish here and there he knew that he had the very best base to start with. None, or absolutely minimal attention would be required to the bodywork (although it would be taken down to bare metal) prior to the fresh paint being applied.

He was fortunate that, owing to his job that included training others in paintwork skills, he was able to have the work carried out without having to apply the financial or time constraints most of us would have had to consider were we in the same position.

The exterior surface of KMR341F, after being stripped to bare metal, was inspected in detail and any tiny imperfections attended to.

Exterior trim including glass and rubbers was removed. Door shuts were left original.

After the correct undercoats the top coats, an exact match to the original colour and paint type, were applied.

We, probably more than most, are used to original paint finishes. It is not until you really look at the work done on this car that you realise that it would seem great care and time has been taken to replicate how the original finish actually would have been in the days of hand spraying volume production vehicles 4 decades ago back in the sixties.

Overall the standard of work looks authentic even to the point (we would like to think deliberately) that it is not 100% uniform all over. There are areas that show slight signs of a little ‘orange peel’ just as there would have been back in the sixties.

So that Viva has had a bare metal respray, and the doctor is telling us that its not a pebble-beach winning £50k job but a thorough + professional one that looks good on the car. You cant fault his honesty i reckon. Good on him!

That Viva is lovely, The interior on those is much more stylish then that of my Kadett which was it's direct European counterpart.

Look at the grot on this Hirst Spec 2.0 Turbo Diesel Camry!, Even at £250 I bet it's £200 overpriced!

However, the vehicle would be ideal for parts or restoration. The main feature is the 2litre turbo diesel, which has only done a genuine 118850 miles.

Brilliant! You have to wonder sometimes whether they're being serious or write these adverts just to entertain us...

Hello?

OH HAI, is that the MegaBucket job lot of rattle can specialists?

Yes mate.

GR8.99007, have you got several thousand cans of red and black please?

Yeah chief, what's it for?

Oh, my recovery truck. Does it do tyres too?

Does it bollocks as like

Ah, fuck it, I'll take all you've got....

I'd imagine they are like driving the Sesame Street bus, do 46mph flat out and use more fuel than several supertankers but I do quite like the look of them.

And he bought it days ago so he's done blatt-all to it

Didn't meet reserve here - swiped before end:

Not 1 bidder first time round, yet Doctor gets 8 of 'em within hours.... Ok, so prolly 4 of them are his shilling/valleter fellas. But I still don't get how it gets up to £3.5k on day 1.

I couldn't get that interest even if I installed dancing girls and a pole :?

I'm telling you man, its down to his patter and ace photography, that interior looks 100 times bettr in his pics than above, and its the same interior! He is just very skilled at what he's doing.

Yeah, it's outside a repair garage with the bonnet up, he's described the whole condition of the car (even the chassis) but he hasn't tried to see why it doesn't run.

Crank shaft oil seal and knackered headgasket/s minimum I reckon.

I would agree, I think you'd have to expect to replace the engine. Worth doing though!

This is the same one i photographed last year and Dicky went to see a few weeks back, The number plate has now changed though.

"Starts on the button".

Just about, but no mention of the clouds and clouds of blue smoke it was churning out from an obviously knackered engine! It's only running on three cylinders and the clutch is knackered as well.

£1000! Should be in the bargains thread, he told me he was after £600 for it, I wouldn't give him £100 for it.

He has a Thai bride as well.
