I'm trying to remember where the BL factory in Speke was. I always get the site mixed up with the old Metal Box factory. (Another high profile Liverpool failiure).

Where was it built exactly?

I can't believe I drooled over these as a nipper, I always thought of them as supercars due to the shape!

Started off at the Speke works in Liverpool, then transferred to Coventry in 1978 I think. Then again in 1980 to Solihull just in time for production to end in 1981. Value for money!

TR7's are about as 'shite' as you can get!

Underpowered, strangely styled and thrown together by bolshy scousers when taking a rare day off from striking with absolutely zero regard for product quality.

Get one in brown with a blue door and you've hit sports shite nirvana.

I have got 2 TR7s.

Speke one has been totally rebuilt, Solihul one isn't too bad.

They are pretty high up in the crap sports car ranking I recon. There have been other shite sportscars but none so rubbishly mass produced.

I also happen to think they look fantastic!

So there.

Then in 1992, BL built a new factory to produce the TR7 on the surface of the moon, only to be told that they had in fact ceased production of the car 11 years earlier, at which point, the whole plant had to be disassembled and returned home, although half way through the workers downed tools, and the factory is currently floating in orbit forever due to half being owned by Ford, a 1/4 by BMW, and Nanjing who owned the keys to the front doors, etc etc.

They would take 950 quid for it, I think that's the cheapest thing you could buy for a 2003 car??

You could probably get a 2003 big Citroen or Peugeot for less than that :(

Is it wrong to quite like that Rover? Are they really that bad?

I would thought for £950 it worth the gamble.

1973 Hillman Hunter 1725

This looks quite snazzy and it's surprising tax exempt as well.

1981 Toyota Hi-Lux 2.0 4x4

This must be getting quite rare at this age and condition, 1 owner from new and only 30k, £2200 doesn't sound expensive neither and i would thought it would export for more then that.

"Tax Free" Hunter?

The enquiry is complete

I done the same thing Pog, I guess that they could prove it was made in 1972?.

Raymanboy? Possibly, however mental disorder seems likely no matter who it is:

To give him credit, his spelling's better than your average eBay user though...

I've got a headache after reading it all.

One of his feedbacks on eBay;

'Positive feedback rating Nice bloke, looked like Les Battersby from Coronation Street!!'

I'm liking that Hunter.

It has the Holbay engine, anyone know if the only difference between the G Luxe and the GLS are the twin carbs?

Holbay engines had a reworked camshaft and bits for more power.
