Old (ish) giffer buys brand new car then hardly ever uses it due to being old and retired and stuff.

Some time around 1999 the old giffer becomes blind enough that he stops driving and the car gets stuck in the garage

A few months ago, Said giffer pops his clogs, and family are tasked with selling the house etc.

They see an "Old montego" in the garage and ring up a scrapyard to collect it. It's just an old shitter to them.

Scrapyard collects car, pays a token 1er for it and then sticks it straight on ebay. Which is fair enough, I'd bet 50% of scrappers would have bailed it on arrival
