Alexg Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 17,000 mile Horizon looks to be worth a punt http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Talbot-Horizo ... 3f1202fb7e
mattblack Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 If anyone on here buys that Horizon I have a pair of headlamps in the garage.
cort16 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I like the look of this. Povo spec too. One for trigger maybe?http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/mk1-granada-1977-20l/93406050#gallery-item-full-2
DSdriver Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 WANT WANT WANT. If this is anywhere near as clean as it looks, we're talking about a BARRGIN of epic proportions.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C256704 A beautiful car to waft around in, if it is sound underneath the only problems could be the cost of getting it back to the mainland and removing all the crumbs and fluff from the vertically mounted cassette player.
ashmicro Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Larne/Stranraer or Larne/Cairnryan should be cheapish at this time of year. The boat to Liverpool takes (literally) all night, and is usually quite a bit more money, but then you don't have to drive so far. On the way in you can get the train from Larne to Belfast, and thence to Bangor. If you come in from Liverpool and get off in Belfast, the train only takes about 40 mins to Bangor. DISCLAIMER: Bangor is full of members of the Alliance party and people with faux-Home Counties accents. But that doesn't make them unfriendly
trigger Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 That Mk1 Granada is very nice, It was up for sale over on OSF forum where it got a lot of praise, I'm pretty sure it's sold now though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 97.c0.m619 This on the other hand is amazing, a basic spec 957cc Fiesta with only 1 owner and 33k, It even has the vinyl interior, I wonder what kind of money it will make?.
Negative Creep Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Not quite sure where this sits on the complete bollocks ------ awesome scale THIS CAR IS A COMPLETE DEATH TRAP,,IVE ONLY TOOK IT UP THE BY PASS,AND HONESTLY FEELS AND SOUNDS LIKE CONCORDE,IT MAKES MY FOCUS ST LIKE THATS GOING IN REVERSE,THE NOISE IS AMAZING,THE POWER FEELS LIKE 600BHP NOT 323,THE LOOK ON PEOPLE,S FACES ,LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE WEIGHED IN FOR SCRAP!!!!!ITS UNCONTROLABLE AND DANGEROUS,FRIGHTNING,AND THATS THE MAIN REASON FOR SELLING IT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260925045985? ... 1423.l2648
dollywobbler Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Maybe it'd be less of a death trap with some air in the tyres... Wonder how much you could flog the 280 tailgate for?
eddyramrod Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I like the look of this. Povo spec too. One for trigger maybe?http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/mk1-granada-1977-20l/93406050#gallery-item-full-2 Two grand, with the wrong grille, wrong steering wheel and wrong tyres on the back? And after all that, still only a povo 2.0L, that isn't even tax-free? Makes mine look bloody cheap!
eddyramrod Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Yes indeed I do, but no apology for that: mine is a much higher spec and much less messed-about. It's also old enough that, were I to import it to Blighty, I'd be paying zero road tax.
cort16 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I'd pay 2k for than Granada if I had it. The poverty of it adds to the charm. The may be a re-post but never mind as it's awr-sum. 44k Orion for £595.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C263204
Cavcraft Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Hmm, talking of Capris look at this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-capri-3- ... 19cc5a6d84 'extensive restoration and rebuild' Yeah, blinding job you've done there. I mean £3,000 spent and the interior looks shit, it's not even finished and the door moulding are not there. 'this is a 35 year old car' Which, judging by the way he types, is about 28 years older than the seller.
autofive Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 paul breaks mk3 escorts i dont know how he managed to get his hands on this capri
Cavcraft Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Coming soon on ASTV: The Great Escape. Autoshite POWs plan for one of their number to escape from a Mildo camp during Banger War II. Having wasted enormous resources on recapturing Iveco Cargo Piece Of Wank (POWs), the Ovalists move the most determined to a new, high-security prisoner of war track. The commandant, Luftwaffe Colonel von Bluebird, tells the senior British officer, Group Capt Trig Triggleson, "There will be no escapes from this camp." Trig replies that it is their duty to try to escape. After several failed escape attempts on the first day, the POWs settle into the prison camp. High Intensity Automotive Breakers (HIABs) and Sierra Smashers (SS) agents bring Squadron Leader Bob Outlaw (WTF, PSV, HGV, twice removed, once from the pub) to the camp and deliver him to von Bluebird. Known as "Big O," Outlaw is the principal organizer of escapes and Metaltheft agent Kuhnt orders that he be kept under the most restrictive permanent security confinement, which Col. von Bluebird, disgusted by the HIAB and the SS, only makes a "note" of, treating the command with complete contempt. As Kuhnt leaves, he warns Outlaw that if he escapes again, he will be shot. Outlaw is then placed with the rest of the POWs, rather than the restrictive holding that Metaltheft agent Kuhnt had demanded. Can Trigger escape with the prize?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-Oxford ... 27c1f49004
eddyramrod Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 That must be a scale model; according to the text the engine is 1.6cc! Real ones were 1622cc. Quite a difference! Seriously? Trig, I'd have a crack at that if I were you.
Cavcraft Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Mind bending drugs+Metro=fail. dollywobbler Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 One for Trigger here just popped up on RR! Forget the HC thing. I much prefer the HB Vivas anyway. Has the 1.6 so won't be sluggish.http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... ead=119591
Skizzer Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Mind bending drugs+Metro=fail. Those pictures are so shit I can't even tell whether it's a 3- or 5-door. Not that I care. Tosser Have we had this? Ticket until March but reserve not met at 900 notes and it's in Cornwall:

Luxobarges_Are_Us Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 WOW! I'm not an Alfista, but that 'Sud is so yummy....I would! Yes indeed I do, but no apology for that: mine is a much higher spec and much less messed-about. It's also old enough that, were I to import it to Blighty, I'd be paying zero road tax. Come on, Eddy, you are clever enough to realise that, beyond the bottom end of the market, the road tax situation doesn't really influence the value of a car. In a couple of months there may be a new law re-introducing the rolling tax exemption. Or another one doing away with the historic RFL class. Or yet another that expands the LEZ concept and bans pre-1992 cars from urban areas on an emissions pretext (I kid you not- this is already happening in parts of Italy, and I think Germany, too). If you do know what'll happen to legislation over the next couple of years, I'd like some lottery numbers, too. Now, if you were to explain the high asking price for your car by stating the simple fact that used cars tend to be remarkably more expensive in Cyprus than here in the UK, I'd be in total agreement!
eddyramrod Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Oh they are, without a doubt. By a huge margin too, which is very depressing. I'm also playing on rarity (I haven't seen another Mk1 here at all) and history, although I haven't been able to collect any documentary evidence for it. Even so, given its condition and the exchange rate, it's only the same as a top-price Granada in UK. And mine has the manual box, which is Holy Grail territory, for everyone except me. I hate the fucking thing, there's no reason to have a manual box in a luxury car like this. Except terminal stupidity on the part of the original owner. So this is one car that won't be getting crated up with my goods and chattels!
trigger Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Very good Billy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-CX-2- ... 3a6eb70301 How good does this look!, and before anyone says it, my balls aren't big enough to own a old Citroen CX!
Felly Magic Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Paging Cavcraft. Mint Mk3 2.0Li with a genuine 44k on............ I actually think £1500 is a bit low for this, as they are getting rare now, especially in such minty fresh condition. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-G-Vauxha ... 460wt_1344
Negative Creep Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Are there any late spec Cavaliers left in any other colour?
