That looks like it's on the precipice...

If day stopped following night and hell froze over, I could possibly get over my BMW prejudice. I know the old ones are alright, I'd quite like a boxy 528 from the early 1980s but after that seeing one on the road is like discovering a dog turd on your doorstep. Ugghh.

I remember the 3 series compact being launched, and I worked with an aspiring yuppie who really wanted one. At the time I'd have preferred her, but now I'd probably take the car.

I know all the motor magazines say it's heavier, slower and less roomy than any other hatchback, but it's not quite as common as the 3 series saloon and the choice of smallish, almost modern RWD cars is pretty slim.

There's always fun to be had with Japanese imports - look at this ace Mitusbishi! It's like an MPV, but with only 4 seats, beating the BMW X6 by 15 years :D

This Mitsubishi Delica is the first one I've seen that doesn't have tyres from a monster truck fitted. I think I prefer it with monster truck tyres to be honest.

I'm not much of a BMW fan, but I have to say the 1996 728i I used to own was a thoroughly decent car, and the parts prices at the dealers for bits-and-bobs that you couldn't get elsewhere were surprisingly reasonable.

Here's a very rare Daihatsu Charade cabrio! Been off the road for a few years.

Look at this super-rare Audi 200 quattro. I hope his car ownership skills are better than his photo skills

This Hyundai Accent could provide cheap, tedious motoring for someone.

It's a bit rough here and there

Still, it's good to know the owner hasn't been wasting their money on some Angel Delight coloured floormats

Hmm, Manta has no reserve, owes the seller over three grand and he's 'not giving it away'. What's the betting the highest bidder will come away empty handed if the price doesn't reach what the vendor hopes for?

This car will probably go on for a hundred years, with only tiny effort from the owner

Yet despite huge effort and time, this one will never see another MoT

As you can see i did email the Manta owner but he's on cloud cuckoo land if he thinks it worth £4k.

If you want one, get it now. There's a new single make race series for these that started this year. They'll start getting spendy soon.

I brought this capri a couple of years ago from a guy up north.

He had restored it to show standards, it had a bear metal respray.

And is painted underneath.

I started to strip it down as I was going to use it for racing.

The engine and gearbox was removed and sold on.

The interior again was removed and sold on.

I started to cut out the rear floor, as you can see in the photos.

The body is in fantastic condition.

B.I.N £425

If I had spent ages and thousands fixing this up, i'd really struggle not to thump this twat in the face!!!

What a tw@t.

ITS HIS CAR HE BROUGHT IT SO HE CAN DO WOTEVA HE WANTS STFU etc

I was (still am) really pissed off about the c0ck who bought my blue Metro. My family had it since new, 20k, I let him have it cheap cos he promised to restore it, keep it on the road etc, then about 6 weeks later he took the engine out and scrapped it with 10 months MOT left!

I was in my mum's car today and she was saying that she misses 'Piggy' (that was the Metro's name, obv) and that she hopes ahe's still being looked after... It makes me feel worse!

Also the guy who bought that gold Mk3 Sceptre etc...

The owner of that Capri must be a prize prick, I'd like to met him down a dark alleyway and duff him up. That would learn him.

It's not that big a deal. Weld a floor section back in the arse, paint it and you're back to a clean shell. It's not like he's chopped it in half.

Posted

I'm too scared to call and ask as I know one thing will lead to another and I'll come home with it.... :)

Capri

£425 BIN, that's a bloody bargain that. You'd spend a hell of a lot more respraying a Capri even if it was rust free. That's the most tedious and expensive bit of a restoration taken care of.

If you have one of those Harlequins, what colour is stated on the log book?
