Collecting Cars Coffee Run. The Motorist, Sherburn -- Many Pictures

Looking for excuse to use the new acquisition last weekend I saw there was a car and coffee type event being organised buy the online auction platform Collecting Cars at The Motorist which is about half hour away. Seeing how the weather was great and the camera was charged it seemed rude not to have a ride out.

I'm glad I did! The turnout was varied and top-shelf. some very spendy motors and some equally oddball stuff. Very enjoyable.

I find it mind-boggling that the green Bentley is a full 100 years old yet still completely holds its own and whilst looking like it's trying to intimidate the youngers. It was fantastic watching the irreplaceable vintage tin hooning around at Goodwood a couple of years ago.

I hadn't actually thought about it, but yeah 100years and 2months since it was registered!! Mental. It is was quite imposing up close, it made the GT40 look like a toy.

It speaks volumes that a beast which has outlived it's original owner (and them some) still cuts the mustard and still has the capability to make people stop and just drink it all in.

Great pics, favourite is the Viva GLS... Hopefully going tomorrow for the Ford meet.. Fingers crossed in something of a 60s vintage.

It's tomorrow, pre 2000 Ford but obviously owt can go. Classic Ford are going too. Guess there will be loads of Escorts. So taking somat a bit rarer. First run in 3 years!!

No; not the van. Although that's getting put back on the road after 4 years of inactivity. Car of choice is a recent purchase, one owner from new... Bought from Tates of Leeds in 1960. That's all you're getting for now...

I popped over earlier but could see you or any 60s Fords (other than Lotus Cortinas and an Escort rally car), hopefully I'll get to see your new acquisition soon enough.

My chariot of choice had a technical issue so defaulted to my reliable R8, not as many Ford's as I expected. Although was a lot of coming and goings. Nice drive out though.. And weather OK

Nice pics and mix of cars especially given the amount of salt on the roads.

I'd like to see one of those new Ladas especially the speedometer. The company importing them was all set to start selling them over here but it has gone awry with er...  Politics or summat.

I've been to a few Ford meets in the Mercury and it gets a mixed response, I usually try and explain to people, it's like Lexus to Toyota sort of.

I thought this site out of many would appreciate the R8 reference !!

As for the recent purchase, not able to share image for some reason. Ill try again later but its a 1960 Ford Prefect 107e

The older I get, the more I realise how bloody ugly the Jaguar E-Type is with the hard top. And it is 100% definitely a hill I will die on.
