Rootes cars were renamed ‘Sunbeams’ for most export markets, around the time the Avenger was launched in early 1970.

Only certain Commonwealth markets like Australia and NZ kept the Hillman, Singer etc names until 1976, where they were dropped over here as well. The Avenger was a Hillman, then a Chrysler and finally a Talbot over its 11 year lifetime, and that was just in Britain!

It should but is registered here as a Chrysler don't know why.
