Transit Jumbo Camper capers…SOLD M8

Recommended Posts

Saw a MK7 Transit Jumbo camper on eBay last night in Preston.

Bargain for what it is. Seller seems a decent chap and has owned it 5 years.

Booked a pair of train tickets for mrs JJ and I, cheapest option was to drive to Peterborough and then a train to Leeds then change to Preston.

Made it to Peterborough so far:

Is the Y on the wall there at the end of the word DIRTY?

I've been to Preston twice, once to pick up a Volvo V70 and once to pick up a Sunbeam-Talbot 90.  It's a long way from Norfolk.

GLWTC.

If it wasn’t, it should be. I didn’t notice!

The train hasn’t been too bad tbh

As long as the collection goes OK I then have to drive 3hrs down to Peterborough station to drop mrs JJ off to collect the BMW then 1hr 15 back to Swaffhamshire.

Well excited about this for reasons I can neither understand or explain 😁

You’ll be able to buy a roffle ticket when the inevitable happens in 6 months!

Just fell asleep on the train. Now at Burnley, another 35 mins and I’ll be in Preston.

Matey is collecting us in an Auris.

Excellent. My Mum had a face-lift Mk1 which was rather nice. :)

At that age it'll probably have a speed limiter on it...

Please don’t tell me that

It'll probably be 65 or 70 so you'll still be able to get a reasonable move on - you won't be stuck at 56 with the lorries

That’s fine, I can’t see me wanting to go any more than 70 in it to be honest. If it’s got one, they’re easy enough to remove with the right software.

My old Autoglass Transit Custom I had when I was a windscreen fitter had a 70 limiter on it, you could disable it by pressing the Eco mode button 😂

One of the joys of Fords is that the software to reprogramme stuff is pretty widely available.  Sadly not the case if you own an LDV Maxus...

Do you ever think that's a bit of an oxymoron...? 1023284887_emoticon-0102-bigsmile(1).gif.110e083bad5a0d18a76756c826f3cd29.gif

I was in Preston an hour ago, now I'm in Blackpool on the front. Can see 10ft waves from my hotel bedroom window.

Safe journey home via Peterborough.

Tranny vans are Ace.

Edit.  Especially RWD.

I've never* seen higher with a trailer on the back.

Some of them do have the wrong diff in if they were specified for towing excavating machines from new.
