bigstraight6 Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 i cant find the words to explain how much i need that vehicle in my life.how come its on an s plate? ive never seen a lad cab on a plate that lateI was wondering that, the last lorries with the LAD cab were Albion Reivers/Clydesdales built in 1972, could it be that the Westie/Leyland hybrid was 'built' in the year on the 'S' plate and was registered accordingly? was this before the advent of the 'Q' plate for such vehicles? anyone know I'd love that vehicle, it would really impress the neighbours wonder if it's hiding in a lockup somewhere.....
Torsten2001 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Back in the day there was no such thing as an age related plate, if you imported a 1962 Mk 1 Cortina in 1980 it got a V plate, as one of my relatives did.
The Main Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Yes indeed. I remember seeing a mid-1960's Singer Vogue saloon around Swansea on a W-plate. I wonder what happened to it.I hate age-related plates - they are just so 'Heartbeat'. At least the W-plate on the Vogue said something about the vehicle, it's history and when it came to be registered on the UK mainland.
pogweasel Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Exhibit A, allegedly ex-australia, whatever the truth it was 9 years old before it got a UK registration. Â
seth Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Hmm, I wonder how that stands with black/silver plates then. Is that based on reg date or manufacture date?
Torsten2001 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Hmm, I wonder how that stands with black/silver plates then. Is that based on reg date or manufacture date? Officially it's based on registration date but as we know, all coppers are mongs. There was special dispensation for some catagories after 01.01.1973 like buses, agricultural vehicles etc, all other vehicles were supposed to go all reflective on us!
chester drawers Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 all coppers are mongs.ACAB is so last week. ACAM is the tattoo of choice amongst the King's Road set.
