The Princess is better, though.

General shape and lines of the doors (both the top of the door, bottom of the windows), and the flat rectangular rear lights.

I can't be arsed posting a pic, but that Megane looks very, very like the current Merc GLA (or whatever the jumped up A class thing is called....)

Can well believe it as the A Class is built on the Megane platform apparently.

I don't think AM have ever made much profit consistently - and it's  shares have continued to lose value.

Rover bought a couple of 1947 Studebakers to help in the process of developing the P4. One was left whole and the other had the body taken off and fitted to a P4 prototype chassis, the resulting combination being known at the factory as the Roverbaker. After the P4 was released the hybrid was used as a factory hack, then after a few years the Studebaker body was reinstated on its proper chassis and that car sold second hand.

Nah, I always thought that these Samaras looked more like shrunken Talbot Alpines and Solaras. However the Moskvichs of the era were more samey.

I think the Princess looks like it could have evolved into the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Much chunkier obviously but that is the trend in all modern cars.

The Uno is well styled, the Polo is just a generic blob. Which was a shame, because the previous Polo shape displayed some timeless originality.

The last small VW I have any time for.

Interesting how we are comparing 2 cars here. With todays models (EVs) especially , you could have 10 look-a-likes.

(I know there’s more badge engineering these days)

Always thought the MK1 Golf and MK2 Escort had similar front ends - quite hard to find a Google image of a round light, full width bumper, chrome trimmed grille version to compare though!
