I’m so pissed off with it, I don’t enjoy driving it (apart from the comments) and I’m not sure what to do. Beginning to wish I’d never seen it and think I should have bought a Mk5. I’m having so much grief with my back, hips and elbow that I can’t do anything I want/need to do and capped it off last night when I ordered a KFC bucket for end of school holidays treat. Ordered and paid for a 14 piece bucket and 5 pieces delivered. No answer from the restaurant so Mrs W and I went without. Cunts. Fuck it! Christ, if a little paint blistering was all that was wrong with my car, I'd be laughing! Please fix the leaking garage roof, by the way. A damp garage is about the worst place one can keep a car...

Maybe you didn’t mean it to, but it came across as patronising and condescending., not to mention flippant. My “little paint blistering” issue, from the two paint shops I’ve discussed it with, would be north of £10k to resolve, with a full respray needed. To me, that’s not as trivial as you make it out to be. Damp garage being harmful? No shit! As I’m sure I’ve explained before, the roof is corrugated asbestos and interlaps with the neighbour’s garage. You can’t just do one roof and the neighbours interact or speak with no one. I have an awful lot going on at the moment without your unhelpful input I’m afraid. High Jetter 1

If you're not feeling the love for the car, spending shit loads on resprays etc does seem daft. But if you get some use out of it and fall in love with it again, then spending some brass on it would feel easier. The comment above stuck in my craw as well. Don't take it too serious. Sometimes stuff gets lost in text that sounds different in words. Unless it was written as meant. In which case I agree. jayroller and Wibble 1 1

I only meant what I said in the spirit of 'chin up, worse things happen at sea'; perhaps the humour didn't come through. The car looks in fabulous condition, and I hope a few paint issues won't detract, or indeed distract, from that. Perhaps I have a blunt style of writing and/or speaking. Regardless, there was no desire to insult, offend or otherwise seek conflict; I trust that evidence of that is provided by my interactions with others. rainagain, Matty, Snake Charmer and 1 other 4

Snake Charmer Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Just finished reading through this, you really have had it piled on you from all sides. 😔 Wibble 1
Wibble Posted November 25, 2023 Author Posted November 25, 2023 My journey north on Thursday was ok, dropped Wiblet senior at work at 8.30am and was at the hospital in Paisley by 3.30pm. Yes, he is now my new team member and doing well. It’s bloody cold in Renfrewshire now though and had to buy a new washing machine for mum today, as her’s has packed up. Install tomorrow, it’s in the back of the Superb and couldn’t face it tonight after hours at the hospital. Trying to get the message across that she needs to make some effort to get better and get home but not convinced she’s that willing to try🙁 Snake Charmer, danthecapriman, AnnoyingPentium and 2 others 5
Wibble Posted November 26, 2023 Author Posted November 26, 2023 Heading back to Basingstoke tomorrow, fingers crossed for a clear run 🤞
Wibble Posted November 27, 2023 Author Posted November 27, 2023 Another 7 hour run, happy with that until I got a call from my sister as I passed Didcot on the A34. Mum’s taken a turn for the worse, can you turn around? Sorry, no, I can’t. I don’t have it in me to just turn around and drive another 7-8 hours back up. Fucks sake! Sister was panicking that mum has gone down hill since yesterday, when she was quite bright, hospital saying no need to panic. Fingers crossed, I’m fucking knackered 🙁 Coprolalia, Bren, danthecapriman and 8 others 11
Wibble Posted November 27, 2023 Author Posted November 27, 2023 Thanks guys, iPhone doesn’t give me the option of thanks emoji to notifications. I just can’t believe I’m here again, barely 12 months since dad died, in the same hospital. I’m truly hoping for a different outcome this time and whilst I’m not the oldest, my sisters are now counting on me saying I’m now the head, as dad has gone and I’m the oldest male. I’m giving them all the support I can, which dad would want. tooSavvy, Rust Collector, cort1977 and 1 other 4
Wibble Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 Unfortunately mum has deteriorated further today and has just been taken for a scan. Two of my sisters are with her and it sounds like they’ve had an awful day. Bren, wesacosa, danthecapriman and 8 others 11
danthecapriman Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Sorry to hear this. It’s never nice but so soon after your dad makes it even worse. Best wishes to you all. Wibble 1

Wibble Posted November 29, 2023 Author Posted November 29, 2023 And Mrs W has deteriorated too and has many hospital appointments scheduled. Shit times, again and no end in sight unfortunately. Carl1981, Coprolalia, JMotor and 7 others 10
Wibble Posted November 29, 2023 Author Posted November 29, 2023 Mum now has a DNR notice on her bed and a priest has been and spent time with her, which she will have been comforted by. She is just sleeping now and having morphine. They have t given up on her and are pumping antibiotic but we all have a very bad feeling about this. They've found a hole in her bowel, which has caused infection. This is sometime after having a camera exam, following which she started to decline. Coincidence? Last year, dad died in that hospital from sepsis, due to a tear in his bowel, following a camera exam. I cannot believe what is happening. Mrs W is sitting here crying, my two boys have gone silent and my sisters keep calling me in tears that this hospital have done it again. JMotor, Carl1981, Dyslexic Viking and 10 others 13
High Jetter Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 I doubt it's the hospital's fault. Very similar with my mum, died in 2017 in a care home. If morphine is given they have a good idea of the outcome, you need to prepare yourself m8. Here if you need to chat.

We’re trying to prepare, I have a list of people to call tomorrow but I’m struggling to get my head around everything to be honest. Hospital says there is still hope and that’s what we’re praying for.

Not really up for eating I’m afraid and I’ll call them from work, they’re her friends, so elderly and my call will panic them anyway, so don’t want to call early. Fortunately, work will be fine with me doing this. High Jetter 1
mercedade Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 All the best to you and your family, you've had a terrible time of it and none of this is easy to deal with. Absolutely none of it. Wibble 1
Rust Collector Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I've just had a big catch up on this thread; I'm really sorry to hear of the awful time you and your family are having at present. Wishing you all the best and keeping my fingers crossed for you all. Wibble 1
Wibble Posted November 30, 2023 Author Posted November 30, 2023 My youngest sister rang me from the hospital this morning in tears. They asked her to gather the family and were going to have mum moved to a private room as soon as possible. Shortly afterwards my elder sister rang to say she didn’t think it was imminent, so agreed I’d head back up Saturday. Thanks for everyone’s support, really appreciate it, just helps to share. Wibble Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Fucking hell! We’re getting ready to leave tomorrow morning and poor Wiblet junior has managed to knock a Star Wars statue off a shelf in his room, hitting his foot, taking the nail and tip of toe off. Pissing blood everywhere. Had to pull rest of nail off and clean him up and off to A&E. I looked like a fucking murderer there was so much blood on my hands, carpets, walls. Poor kid, not a tear though, brave lad. Snake Charmer, Coprolalia, Floatylight and 7 others 1 9
Snake Charmer Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Take the Senator, what could possibly go wrong? Hope you have a decent road trip and get up there in time, 👍 Wibble 1
AnnoyingPentium Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Been catching up on this as well. Wishing all the best to you and your family, hope things pick up soon pal. Wibble 1
Wibble Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Cheers guys. Take the Senator made me laugh @Snake Charmer, thanks, and thanks again everyone. Mrs W had a good blood result today so we’ll take that and she’s taken junior to hospital, in case they’re ages, so I get some sleep for the drive tomorrow. Wibble Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Just had another update from my sister. Mum is now in a private room but, and I’m scared to have hope, she is seemingly responding to the antibiotics. Her CRP count has gone from 194 to 99, her liver and kidney function have also improved. She is conscious and has eaten a little and talking. The hospital are saying they have more treatments they want to do, if she can get stronger but she needs to keep eating, doesn’t matter what, just eat. She has promised to try and has had some soup and part of a sandwich. The power of prayer? I hope so, because we’ve been flat out. Maybe @The Vicar could have a whisper too, if he has time? As I’ve said, scared to hope too much, given what the hospital have said earlier this week and we know it can be good and bad days before the end and maybe this was just a good day. We’ll soon know I’m afraid. JMotor, The Vicar, mercedade and 5 others 8
danthecapriman Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Fingers crossed for you all. It sounds promising though. Best wishes to your little un’ too after that! Wibble and Snake Charmer 1 1
Wibble Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Thanks folks, thanks @danthecapriman, he’s 13 and bigger than me. Not always a good thing when you just want to give him a dad’s hug! They’re waiting in paediatrics and they’ve said they might need to x-ray but others have been there for hours. Could be a long night😬 AnnoyingPentium and danthecapriman 2
