There used to be Pete, Now all we have is This website cannot be found along the top.

I don't get that. Or adverts.

How queer, I've always had this message along the top on here and I'm sure it used to be an advert as well, I always have to double click the back button as well. I'm running IE8 if that makes any difference?.

Here's a screen shot of what i get.

Hi , i've been lurking for around a year now. The site is even on my favourites toolbar! I can be found on several Rover related forums too.

Never seen ads on this site myself. What browser are you using? I never had ads on Safari, Firefox or the one using now Chrome.

In your Sig. this sounds disgusting! any pics??!!??
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I hav'nt, but close your eyes and let yourself drift off, think Poverty Spec, Oxidised Turd Brown paintwork with red pinstripe, no wheel trims...........Diarrhea tone, rubbish strewn Velour interior, that smelt like a Baboon's arse, and your almost there. :D Disclaimer : As to what the actual aroma of what a real Baboon's Arse is like, is pure supposition, and not based on personal experience.

'Ey up you lot. I've been lurking for ages, I come on here at work on my lunch hour all the time, fascinated by the pics and amused by some of the posts! I've actually been registered for ages but I've only just been approved.Knew I couldn't have been the only one who since childhood has been captivated by the sight of an old shitter on the road or a forlorn MK2 Fiesta parked on a drive for God knows how long. Glad to be here.

-...ah, I have a picture in mind - it's quite clear! The baboon's arse: if it looks that bad (not that I look) then I bet it kicks out a right pong. Welcome!

I thought I had taken the lurking far enough so thought I would join up.Been a fan of AS for quite some time but feel you are now all taking this forum to a whole new level of shiteness, good work everyone!I am a particular fan of Jap shite although my past motors do not reflect this.My History Austin Mini 1979. First car, complete rust bucket, paid £75 and did me great service for 12 months. A mate was in the trade who did the work to it and when we went to pick it up from the MOT station the lads were arguing about who was going to sign it off (noonone wanted to). Died when trying to overtake a tractor with a blocked carb trying to get home. Left the road hit a stone which parted the engine from the car.Austin Min 1980. Much better than the first, but had to let it go during my student days when the front end nearly detached itself dropping off a kerb.Bedford CF van 2.3. This was fantastic, quicker than most of my mates cars and a complete hoot. It never was the same after arsing about round a roundabout in Preston and on the way home the front wheel flew off and eventually stopped 200m into a field. The farm owners thought we were about to rob the place and call the old bill. Old bill turned up and helped us put the wheel back on using their Austin metro jack......which was fun.Fiat Uno 1987 1.0. My god they saw me coming, back arches completely full of bog, paid over the odds but was desperate and naive. Was actually very reliable and lots of fun and lasted me a couple of years!Citroën AX 1995 1.0 . Cheap shitty reliable motoring nothing more to add.Fiat Punto 2000. First new car, great fun to drive but what a pile of shite. In 18 months of ownership it had 3 steering motors, 1 clutch (needed another when I got rid) had a wing and door repainted due to dodgy reaction. Finally overheated randomly one day. Got rid.Nissan Almera. ZzzZZZzzzZZzZzzZZZzZzzzz Jeez this was a dull car to drive but was it reliable. Had it for 80k miles and it never missed a beat, seriously reliable car. Wife wrote it off on a wet roundabout nearly taking our camper van with it.So this brings me to today where the wife has a Diesel Focus Estate (Fantastic car, Cavette!) and we also have a 1992 Nissan Vanette camper which has taken us around Europe for the last 2 years. 10k miles and super reliable! We love Vern!Sorry for the long post but thought I would share my somewhat dull motoring history.Looking forward to meeting everyone and the northwest possie which seem well represented. Have already briefly met Cavette!I shall now be mostly found in the grumpy old mans thread. :D

And there I was thinking most of the non posters were waiting to be approved. Looks like the last four pages say otherwise....

Hi and Welcome! Whereabouts in the NW are you?

Posted

Hey Danblez, are you the chap who went to Italy in Dean Mconnell's old Mazda 929? 8)

Posted

I am indeed, I still suffer some guilt for leaving it in Italy. The counselling seems to be helping though!

It was a bit shagged at least it went out in a puff of glory. :D
