And I had to pay for the bloody painkillers! I can hear you Scots and Welsh laughing at the back!

I stuck the Alfa up on RR earlier today. Came home this evening and checked to see if anyone had looked at it, there's a message on the thread saying "PM sent". Ooh, thinks I, maybe some interest. So I went to my message inbox, and this is what I read:

"Hi,

Why you so far away?

I'm in Manchester and I rarely get a chance to physically find something like this and drive it home.

I would have bought it."

GR9. That's really constructive. Was it really worth composing a PM to tell me that?

What exactly is "too far away?" New York to L.A?

Its not like we live on some sort of mahoosive island, is it!!

Ive been quite happy, in the past, to do a 400 mile round trip to get the car ive wanted, ive even checked out bloody internal flights just incase the right car was going to be within my budget. Anyway, Manchester to Norfolk isnt that far!!

If only everything we wanted was on our doorstep.

I'm with AR on this, tell the PM sender that he is a complete fucktard for send in a PM like that....I mean, Manchester is central to almost every where in Britain......

the holy holden back up for sale, pantie still not showing the true extent of the rot. If i had travelled a couple of hundred miles to view this car i would be really pissed off when i arrive to find a rusty colander. some people just have no shame.

I'd love that Holden if it was half the price and half as rusty.

I recon it'd be worth 1100 if it didn't have bits of grot big enough for you to get your hand through.

Is that pandaselecter's old one ? is it really that bad?

Posted
Due to an earlier AX + HGV altercation in '95, I have staying at Club NHS (drips are free!). The very nice man with the scaples and gown informed me the reason for my abject pain is arthritis. Which would be fine if I wasn't 36.

Bad luck mate, that sucks. I take it you were in the AX in the aforementioned altercation? If you were in the HGV, the AX must surely have been on the back of a truck or the other side of a wall to have done you any lasting harm. Or maybe dropped from an aircraft.

if it's this rotten on the bodywork, whats the floorpan going to look like after winter?

Posted

To be fair to the car, the floorpans, chassis rails and bulkhead are all really good - it's been undersealed well in the past.

Posted

So that has 10 months MOT............:shock:

if it had been half the price i'd have it

Posted

From previous observations I doubt he would....most probably put the price up instead

Just a........ or so it is said

when it was for sale on retro rides the 1100 asking price included some other panels, no mention of them in the advert though.....

IMO its worth about 450, a v8, lpg system and a few bits of running gear

seller has a tendency to forget to mention things that are rotten/broken/missing

remember the delica?

As well as inexplicably increasing the price sometimes despite the fact he hasn't done anything too it or has even taken stuff away (e.g. spare parts above).

We don't care who started it. Like rootes_arrow said, take it outside.

And the Driver ignored the safety advice given in EVERY briefing before a race takes place, that is, to stay in the vehicle unless it is on fire. That way, the Marshals can actually stop vehicles moving until the driver is at a safe place. Unfortunately, in this instance the driver got out. Just like crossing a busy road in the dark with your eyes shut. I put it down to "Misadventure". Nobody blamed for anything.

Remember this. Motorsport is dangerous. Can we have a lid on this tittle tattle now please.
