Mine did, a bit. Screenshot_20251003_200909_WhatsApp.jpg.ee47d313804af5fdaf76251cc5a1b91b.jpg

Although I have my suspicions that it had been rear ended at some point, so possibly a bad repair.

The old tailgate was full of filler and the badges were missing so I assume it had been fiddled with before.

The tail lights plugs being painted the same shade of white would also support some repair work done in the past.

As for those arches. Errrmm wow that's quite stingy on price. Sadly it's the usual script. No more are being made and there still is a demand for the remaining stock. Keeps prices high.

The bidding for those ones I got were also HFM. I paid the price for them as they saved some guess work for the rear dogleg of the arch.

Gonna keep an eye on that.

I bet it goes for silly money.

Didn't scoop that sill. Ones on mine were solid enough.

Did score a NOS rad. Mine was fitted the earlier rad, which doesn't fit properly at all. Something to do with the slam panels pre-1985 being different.

The only other one for sale was £145! Yikes!

I've done this dance and needed an EFi rad for mine, seller wanted megabucks.

There is a workaround using MGF rad which nearly fits, just needs a bit of bodgification to get it to fit.

A few years ago I smugly sourced a NOS one which I proudly fitted months after purchase... Leaked like a sieve. Too late for any comeback on the purchase.

Hence the need for the MGF workaround.

I didn't know slam panel changed 1985, useful info. There are quite a few changes over the years that affect part fitment, I guess they were improving/cost-reducing as they went along, but virtually invisible to customer.

'Same old Maestro', except it was changed under the skin.

Yesterday I bought a couple of plastic bumpers for my Maestro off a guy in Oxfordshire who, it turns out, I've bought from before.

The bumpers are just spares, but my front bumper has a crack (in the paint?) so I'm intending to spray this one and fit the black "air dam" piece to it, dunno if it'll ever happen though.

He is a serial Chrysler Avenger addict and has two very nice examples. Anyway he also has a Maestro 1.3 SL in (I think) Tahiti Blue and grey. Close to immaculate I'd say, judging on my quick viewing yesterday.

He's saying he'll sell it because he never uses it, so I'm alerting the Brotherhood of BL in case anyone is interested.

I don't suppose it will be cheap but it will be in excellent order; the guy has a two poster in his garage and all his tools are laid out in alphabetical order - you know the type.

So if you want to know more I can put you in touch.

No pics because I'm a buffoon, sorry. Like this one but not this one.
