If you guys that are going can hang on a little later, I will be returning from Hirstville straight past Redbeck. Still unsure which wheels I'm using though................might be about 3-4ish.....

Or we could all pile up to Hirst towers for a brew and to infuriate his parents? What do you think Mr H?Only kidding.... no problem for me to hang around at Redbeck.

Unlikely to make this, I'll be prepping the Disco for a drive to the Alps at the end of Jan

But there's a slim chance I'll be done by then, so maybe. I'll be in the Disco though, all of the other shite is either SORNed or mothballed for winter.

I've just been handed a piece of paper informing me that there is an Autojumble at the Huddersfield open market that morning aswell.

Admission is £2.50 and the postcode is HD1 1RY.

Its about a 20min drive from Huddersfield to the Oil Can.

So there is potential for a full day of Yorkshire based automotive goodness.

Oh, Disco in the Alps will be fun, Im sure.

Well, if you can't make it, Im hoping this meet will become a regular occurance.

Yep, I'm definitely looking forward to it. I've got a nice new set of General Grabber M+S fitted (and two sets of snow chains), that should take care of traction.

I suspect there'll be a write-up after the event, possibly with a link to footage of the lap/s of the Nürburgring we're planning to do on the way down

Christ how did I overlook this?? The Triumph has its chrome stripped at the moment ready for re-chroming so I can't take that, but the Honda Prelude needs a good run out and this sounds perfect. Don't really have the money for the petrol right now but bugger it if I can get the stupid thing started I'll come down, it's a straight run down the A19 and a half hour on the A1 for me, easy peasy.

Though if I do turn up one of you might be giving me a jump to get me home again. Once the Honda is started it won't stop until the petrol runs out if I want it to, but getting it started right now is a chore due to electrical issues.

Picture time. Had a mishap on the way only a couple of miles from home when putting my wipers on. Retightened the nut short term, but I'll be replacing it with something that isn't a brass nut because otherwise this will just happen again.

I'm disappointed that I didn't check my battery life in the camera and that I didn't have the foresight to photograph the shiters in the car park, particularly when we all helped* to free the Volvo from it's snowy doom. But here's what pictures I did take.

There was some very nice stuff on display, right next to where you can enjoy tea (in china, what bliss!) and delicious cakes.

EDIT: Scratch that, Honda won't start no matter what I do. It's never been this bad before. Will have to miss.

Buggerations indeed. I do hope you and the Honda make it down at some point.

Well, that was an awesome way to spend a few hours.

The cafe is amazing, the food and hospitality second to none. And the cars? Well, I think I'll let the pictures do the talking...

I spent all day diagnosing the problem and got it fixed so should be able to make the next one.

Turned out to be a buggered fuel pump fuse, I ended up having to pull every fuse in both banks to check as it has umpteen fuses but doesn't have any indication which one is blown.

I just remembered that on the Standard transporter info board it tells you that it's "Running the standard Standard engine". The blue Triumph was pretty epic too, I wonder who it belonged to.

I have seen the 2002 down my road when the chap who owns it has been visiting his brother.

He also has this w123.

First time he parked them down my road everyone thought they were mine.

However I would a) not put those wheels on the BMW and B) would not have the numberplate and clear indicator lenses on the Merc. All down to personal taste though.

GR9 pics chaps, and good to see that most the cars that made the last meet in the snow were rwd.

You have to take old RWD cars out on the snow, its so much fun. I was mega gutted not to have one on the road this year. My own fault though for being lazy. Have got some sills for the GT6 though so hope I can get this 'no RWD' situation sorted soon.

Oh, can I come? Is there a secret handshake?

No secret handshake, just turn up at the alloted time and introduce yourself. I'll be the disheveled looking fella stepping out of a broken sounding LOLvo.
