I really like this Escort due to it having not been modified maybe other than the wheels image.png.4a817a3fd66eb218de8ade70b85fb08b.png

It my favourite Escort of the lot too, but because it reminds me of how you used to see them, stick on tat and Cortina wheels, I’m surprised it hasn’t got an earthing strap on the back .

This Mk3 is how I remember a lot from the 70’s too, stripes and lights plus MkIV ( or 2000e) wheeltrims, needs a whip aerial.

That’s just cruel, as if the Blenheim owner needed reminding that he drives the most awkward looking big coupe on the planet.

Yes I remember the 70's style to, my Father's Mk2 cortina estate had his own version of high stop lights, similar to the one's on the escort in the picture, fog lights on bars behind the rear window,  he got stopped by the Fuzz because they said that the lights were to bright when he applied the brakes,  this shortly after being rear ended at a set of traffic lights,  I think the only thing missing on the escort is as you say the rubber earth strap and the little reflectors that used to clip on the edge of the doors normally encapsulated in white rubber, looks like a fantastic show with very welcome weather ?

Nice pics Stu, my mum and dad met in the Grand, the big building in the background.

That Alfa Montreal is something else. A family friend living in Bayswater had one for a while in the 1970s. It was green and RHD - that's all I can remember of it.

That white Zodiac is lush, and doesn't the XJC look gorgeous on whitewalls?

Great pics, the reflected image in the polished wheel trim is great.

All I can say is this just reinforces how badly I want a Hillman imp or sunbeam stiletto

If this had two more doors it would identical to the Chevette I owned back in 1981.

Looks like it was a good show, thanks for the pics.

Some nice original cars there, loving the Chevette.

Sierra Cosworth is a nice one on compomotives. I’d not be at ease at a car show if it was mine, what are you supposed to do with something like that? It’s practically unusable these days a car like that, you could leave it alone for a moment let alone taking the fucker out of the perimeter alarmed garage.
