If you are going to use Rustoleum, watch a couple of vids from Moore Motorsports on YT. He seems to repaint his car on a weekly basis and gets amazing results with rustoleum.

Do be aware that any mental health services are likely to be taking *way* longer than usual for the foreseeable future.

I was mid way through a CBT treatment program to help deal with some issues I've been having centring around generalised anxiety disorder, borderline PTSD and my own autism issues interacting with the above mix, when I got a phone call a month or so back.  My therapist has basically been drafted into helping deal with mental health issues directly linked to the current COVID situation and that everything else has been dropped with immediate effect.  They'll be in touch when they are able to resume treatment, but the expectation is months if not years down the line.

Nothing she can do about it, I guess I try to not go totally off the rails in the interim...

From what I've seen over a couple years from some engineering friends, things they painted with red Rustoleum went flat and faded in the course of half a year. The problem may have been fixed however, but use with caution!

Do you reckon coating with a clear lacquer would help? I must admit, I'm no expert on paint.

I believe not, owing to the fact that the paint is single-stage so it has gloss to it. The colour going pink is thanks in part to the Sun degrading the pigments so unless you're using a UV blocking lacquer, I doubt it'll make any difference.

Using a basecoat would require a lacquer to seal it and and give it gloss. This is how the car was painted originally, so perhaps search up the paint code on your VIN plate on the internet and I'm fairly sure an aerosol of base could be mixed up at a paint shop somewhere

I know it's not exactly ground breaking work, but I've done the brake pads on the Fenlander. They were making a graunching noise when coming to a stop from speed. But they still have plenty on them, so I'm confused. The state of the rust etc can't have helped mind. 

Now changed and plenty of copper grease on them. 

Nearside piston was being stubborn so I invented a solution where I jammed a pair of mole grips in and wound them out with another pair!

That's actually genius! I have a caliper wind back tool if you get stuck in future.

Grinding could have been a build up of rust etc looking at the state of the pads, or the pads catching on the lip of the display if they're worn.

Nice idea. I've used a G clamp before for this purpose.

Made it rain by washing the Tourer today. 

Then a neighbour pointed out the Fenlander has a huge crack in the windscreen. About 6 inches long, coming down from the roof. ?

Got a new set of number plates on order for the Fenlander, in the correct font too. Should tidy it up a bit. I'll of course keep the originals, for the history.

I've finally fitted this! Then the next time I parked up the littlun didn't shut the door properly so the alarm (which sounds the horn) started going off while I was opening the front door! Cue me sprinting* back to the car in the rain to turn off the infernal racket!

Is there any rot in the roof above the windscreen on the Fenlander? I know these are notorious for rusting there, and the rot can cause the screen to crack!

Pics of crack / surrounding area 

Peeled strip back and cleaned out the gunk. Seems OK, little bit of bubbling, but I don't think enough to cause the crack.

"Yes" came the reply but In "park" is not the same as pressing the handbrake switch and as he reached into the boot to get the tyre the car rolled forward and fell off the jack.

Got underneath the Fenlander today to check what was causing the squeaks. 

The gear linkage was squeaking when I wobbled it, and so was the exhaust. I've just blasted Wd40 everywhere for now, but there's a few things to do... 

These bushes don't look great. 

Gear linkage seems to have dropped at one end. It seems the rubber that it sits in has spilt. 

Not sure if that is clear, will upload a video...
