Haven't seen the last couple of pages of this thread until now, for some reason. :(

The road seems to be in the same state as the cars! :D

Saw that Princess again where I work, must belong to someone who works there as it is always parked there, in the same place, got to find out who it belongs to :)

Will post the pic of this and the Ambassador up on a couple of wedge sites and see if anyone knows them, if you like?

ADO 16 for Keef ;)

Looks like an MG.

Probably in a similar state to the Kestrel you found. :(

Strangely it comes up as a Morris :-

It doesn't actually look bad from what I can see of it, dry stored but the people down there are really unfriendly. I didn't get to talk to the owner :(

Can you not identify the house the "garage" is associated with and leave a note?

Wouldn't mind an MG to add to my fleet. :)

Difficult, the garage/barn is on its own away from the four houses down there. The building you can see in the background is a stables/riding school owned by some stupid woman who told me to "get orf moi land" I also spoke to two other neighbours who told me the MG owner wasn't around today but I should leave as it was private property and they would call the police, despite it being a public footpath. Absolute morons :x

If you fancy dealing with them Keith, I'll give you the details of where the car is (5 mins from my house).

Thought it might be something like that. :(

Will ride my pony and bring my blunderbuss next time I'm over there. :D

Cant believe the difference in size between the Fiat Punto and the Mini, especially as the latter would dominate the contemporary offerings of Fiat!

I'm also loving those Minors. I think I'll dig out my Paul Skilleter book on those at the weekend again.

Cant believe the difference in size between the Fiat Punto and the Mini,

I thought the blue mini looked in good condition.

It's quite rare to see them these days.

Small New Year's update, I've spotted these in the last week.

Allegro estate, I thought this had been scrapped as I hadn't seen it in its driveway for 5+ years. It appeared to have been replaced by a Rover Metro. So imagine my excitement when it reappeared a few weeks ago. Looks in the same condition as it was last time I saw it, so I reckon it must have been in a garage somewhere.

Rotten Anglia 105E that has been sitting in this driveway for as long as I can remember (at least 20 years).

And of course I saved the best to last...

Last week work took me down a road I'd never been before. and I spotted this mouldering old turd sitting by the side of the road. "What's that?" I thought. Simca? Renner?

OMG Renault 10!

Wow! That 10 is epic! That must be my favourite spot of the year, and it's on the last day!

Holy shit, some amazing touches on that renner 10, the guy has raised the bar. The polishing mop is an awesome acccessory!! I hope he carries it round with him purely as an ornament, like the old trilby on the rear shelf trick.

Posted

We had an all-agro estate like that, but yellow. We called it the banana ! :)

Love the clothes peg holding the tax discs to the sticker in the 10. :D

There was an old air filter and a pair of broken rear lights on the parcel shelf as well 8)

The polishing mop had defo never been used on the Renault, it hadn't been polished since 1975 by the look of it!

Wonder if that polishing mop is part of the earning £20-30/hour scam?

You cheeky bugger, coming up with 2010's spot of the year with hours to spare!

That is beyond epic, the guy is a bloody hero!

Haha cheers! I've just realised something else, there's loads of those flyers around Southend and they're bright orange! That must have been slapped on years ago to have faded like that! 8)

Anglia last on road 1986 according to DVLA.

Renner has to be a strong contender for spot of the year, narrowly beating Triggers 70's Audi 80. 8)

Posted

Bloody Nora. That is a once-in-a-lifetime level of shite spottage. Everything about it is just perfect...

I agree with the above - SOTY, no contest.

That's good skillz Dicky, turning up on the last day of the year with that beauty and BANG! Going straight into the number 1 slot in the shite spot of the year charts... I like your style. :P

Posted

Just had a quick look throught this thread- Great spots ! (Obviously like the Mk1 Fiesta you spotted 8) )

Renna' 10 is a great find, good job

Posted

I was expecting a picture of a '10 at a car show as I thought that would be the only likely place you would ever see one.

What you pictured is weapons-grade shite! I particularly like the corroded headlamp.

Posted

Indeed, the Ten is a fantastic spot. There used to be a minty one around here on a J plate driven by Sid and Doris. It wasn't anything like as good to look at as your spot. 8)

A quick 'booby' HPi check reveals that the owner has only had the Renault since August 2006 and is the sixth owner.

Shame , I had a romantic notion that some cantankerous old gumby had owned it from new..... :(
