EssDeeWon
Great spots - Have you ever seen the burnt orange Marina Coupe in Rochford? Think that's a K reg. I love that beige MK2 festa, I used to enjoy throwing my MK2 957cc around town when I was 17 and always had a soft spot for them ever since. RobT
Cracking spots Dicky. The chap with the Fiesta would be right at home on here. For some reason (just general weirdness probably) I've always liked those polished alloys you got on the higher spec 626s.

Angrydicky
Here's a few cars I've spotted over the last year. There are more, some are on my phone and others on my other memory card I can't find at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to do a further update before the end of the year. So, in rough order. Very original Metro VDP I found in a communal parking area for several businesses on an industrial estate. It looked in decent condition really with no major rust visible. Last taxed 2004, and I just hope it isn't destined to get its engine nicked for a Mini. Kentish Dolomite. I do like this FB Victor VX4/90 that's appeared near Southend town centre. There used to be an Allegro estate on this road, not sure if it's the same person. Nice old Austin Devon for sale at a garage near me, £3950. There's a chap who lives near me who always has plenty of BL and Vauxhall tat outside his house. Went past recently to find he's now got a tidy Maestro. As I was in mine at the time, it made for a good photo opportunity! But then I found another Maestro! This one lives in Faversham. I first saw this one when I was in the Somerset, and chased it a couple of miles before introducing myself to the owner in the supermarket car park. Then I saw it parked up when I was in mine! This one is an '86 1.6HL with funky side graphics and, I kid you not, a quartic steering wheel! This one came from somewhere I don't often visit. It was opposite the B&B I stayed at on the outskirts of Coventry, while I was at the NEC. Does anyone else make a beeline for other old cars in car parks to park next to? This Mazda was in Chelmsford and looked well-looked after. Lovely Rover P4 with its Southend reg still present. Right opposite was this manky looking XJS, and there was an Escort van a bit further up, but I was in a hurry so didn't manage to photo it. This Vanette seems a bit of a shame, off the road a few years but under the grime it looked amazingly solid, I couldn't see any rot on it. And last but not least, have a beige MK1 Sierra! purplebargeken, danthecapriman, RobT and 10 others

Angrydicky
There's some fab stuff there, that Metro being my favorite.Cheers Trigs, it definitely deserved saving. It only had 40k and the interior was like new. I expected it to disappear quite soon but it was there for at least a month and last time I drove past it was still sitting there. I know the chap with the red Maestro has made enquiries about it but no one seems to know who it belongs to.

vulgalour
Was it only the 4/90s that got those extra upright lights? I've seen them on a tiny number of that shape Vauxhall but never known if it were a 4/90, high level trim or period accessory thing.
mercrocker
Yes, just VX4/90 item those extra lights...No doubt some plain Vickys were blinged up back in the day, though Angrydicky and vulgalour
Lord Sterling
Cheers Lord of the Sterlings! Hampton in Arden, sort of between Brum and Cov. It stood out in a very nice tree-lined road full of big detached houses. No way! I've been looking for that house but cannot find it yet, Hampton in Arden is only small so can't be much longer until I find it. But, I did come across a house that has a driveway containing a T-reg Rover 825 Coupe and a Mk2 Vauxhall Senator! Both look to be in regular use too. Think I might need to pass there at some point soon... EDIT* Found the 190E "3FLA" not just that, the house next door to the left, not to be outdone, also have a 190 in Blue. Well, at the time when the Google car passed.
Angrydicky
Have some more junk spotted over the past few weeks. Saw this down near Garycox's parents house while I was helping him strip down his Simca waterpump. Nice original Mini in Westcliff. I've always liked these early facelift Renault 5s. This one is a previous spot of mine from a few years ago but hasn't moved since. I strongly suspect, looking at the house, that it belongs to an OAP who has given up driving. Local PU plates like the Mini. Another previous spot of mine. The A40 still looks the same as when I last photographed it except the rotten Heralds on the front garden have been cleared away and the Austin and an MX5 moved onto a fancy new block paved drive. Are these Mach 1 Mustangs? I don't know much about American cars, but again they have been sitting for years. What next? Well, only a properly rotten Metro outside a rundown house with a fancy new BMW the only roadworthy car there! I was quite happy to confirm for the first time, being on foot, that there are two older saloon cars behind the Metro. Couldn't tell what they were from the road and wasn't brave enough to venture down the drive, sorry! I'm going to hazard a guess at a MK1 Cortina under the tarp and a BMC Farina at the back, but I could be miles out. Sheddy Capri. Shit picture, but another big yank that's been sitting on that driveway as long as I can remember. I tipped EssDeeWon off about this rare MK1 BX because it's in his part of town. It's still sitting there. Industrial estates can be great places to find old chod. This road used to house the legendary Kirby's Car Breakers before they closed a few years ago. The only scrap car down there now was this abandoned Astra estate. There used to be a fleet of these Bedford CF ice cream vans running around Southend. I think they were owned by Rossis before each vendor got their own franchise. Anyway, this is the only one left now. It's been sitting idle outside this rather grand old house in the town centre for at least a year now. I think the house is empty, the rather impressive observatory on the roof has a couple of broken windows and there's birds nesting in there! This Zodiac is owned by a very dodgy classic car dealer, famous locally for passing off ropey, rotten cars as minters. And getting bent MoTs on them. I have it on good authority that this car is rotten as a pear and he's wasted the time of countless buyers, some of whom have travelled hundreds of miles to view it. Shame really, it certainly looks the part. These Chevettes are all owned by the same guy. Metros. Good plate for the owner of a late Maestro. This minty MK2 Granada has recently appeared on this driveway. Laavely. This chap should really be on here. His name is Ian and his son-in-law and I work together so I get regular updates on the changes to his mammoth fleet. The cars on the driveway/garden haven't moved for years, he has various lockups and barn full of interesting old cars as well. I haven't had a chance to speak to him yet, but did photograph this cracking Wolseley 6/110, possibly ex-police, which is a recent addition. I have photographed the other cars before. Viva. Thema. I think this Volvo 360 is now in the hands of a younger owner, judging by the addition of alloy wheels and the 'Volvo Mafia' sticker. At least they seem to be looking after it. And a battered Astra to keep the battered Sierra company at the market. That's yer lot. Dick Longbridge
Great to see the golden ale Metro still hanging on in there, despite the lack of grillage. danthecapriman
Great spots AD, I particularly like the Mustangs, Cadillac and the mk2 Granny. It's a shame the yanks seem to have been left to rot on driveways though. Angrydicky
Shep Shepherd
The 360 lives a few streets away from me. I remember seeing it on eBay a few years ago when it still had steel wheels. It was in pretty much the same condition then as it is now The pinky gold Cadillac Sedan DeVille was on axle stands for years and years and only recently came off them. When I drove past it, I always thought it was a shame to see it standing idle and doing nothing apart from deteriorating. Angrydicky

I wonder how shagged it is...It was last taxed in 1998 so presumably has sat there for 18 years! It's probably well rotten, but who knows it could be savable. Want me to leave a note?
