I honestly believe the dark days of the early eighties will come round again. Race riots and general anarchy will prevail again reasonably soon, and whilst it won't be nice I do reckon it has to come about in the hope some of the thieving tw@ts in power will stand up and take notice. The one thing that makes me wonder about the serial work avoiding bastards is this though: in the unlikely event that all forign nationals were repatriated what what their excuse be then for not having a job? We're to bloody soft over here, no-one has the bollocks to have a mass motoring protest in London because it's 'against the law' etc. It was like when the fuel protests were on, why block garages and refineries etc and stop the ordinary person in the street from going about their business? I'd be up for a mass protest in London and a blockade of MPs houses and driveways etc as they're the ones who are hiking the price of fuel up in taxes etc.

The un-elected wanker did all the damage when he was Chancellor!

But here's the rub - and it has to work both ways no?The UK went through the longest period of economic growth in history while these muppets were at the helm...The whole world had just suffered a major financial re-adjustment which is now being reveresed supposedly. So we should blame Tony & Brown for a world-wide problem? And not give credit for the biggest boost in history?Just playing Devils Advocate

Still want that X7? ;) HeheAnyway I digress...Thing is, the population is soft for expecting the Government to nanny us - as the old saying goes - "if something is worth doing - do it yourself"Governments are usually the most incompetent/inefficient organisations in the world so don't expect too much from them ;)

I dont know that much about politics and economics but..What happened to all the 'no boom and bust' with Labour? And while we were in this economic growth, why wasnt some decent legislation put in with regards to credit etc?Not wanting to get all BNP on you but as already discussed in here.. Most people dont care. Many people in general are too ignorant to notice what's going on, some people are too rich to care about social issues - yes they are bothered about all the tax and crap but they can still manage to live in a decent village or decent area so they can avoid the shit holes.. and who's left?..Well there's people like us, either we care but arent really in a position to make much difference and we're hated by many for being car enthusiasts, or increasingly looked upon negatively by anyone who isnt into cars...There's people who care, but in a similar way to us feel this country is beyond help and have decided their future lies in other lands, and thus dont really care what's happening in the short term...And then there's my BNP bit, most of the foreigners here dont care. It's not their country. Are they here for the long term? Some are, but many are just here while they can survive; possibly sending most of their money 'home'/not supporting our economy.I'm sure I've got a point somewhere, and I am missing people out etc.. but cant think of a decent way way to conclude..

Not wanting to sound like a racist or anything, but here is an example of foreigners milking us dry.....a friend works in a government office, and she often gets calls from foreigners that are living in this country but getting pensions. Just yesterday she had a 70 year old Somalian guy who is getting pension credit, he rang her asking about pension credit for his wife (also 70 years old). Thanks to the government, his wife WILL get pension credit, and as soon as that happens she can also get free prescriptions, free health care, free dentistry, etc, etc. Neither of these old gits have ever worked in the UK, they havent contributed anything at all, all they did was come into the country last year and want moneySo good to know that my NI contributions are going to these two wasters :x :x :x

How do you know how long they've lived here?

I don't begrudge anyone coming here for a better life, and it's hardly their fault that they're eligible for a pension.

Anyway, all this whinging isn't really in the spirit of autoshite is it?

It sounds bloody lovely for such a shite car.

Does sound rather good, doesn't it. I love the way it wallows on the straights. Like a hard charging hippo.

I'd love to see that thing come charging past.

I'm the type of chap who is often a foreigner in a foreign land or even an ethnic minority in the majority of places I live or work. For hundreds of years, the "fear factor" of foreigners coming to various lands has been used to control and manipulate the indigenous populations. The evidence generally shows that foreigners are of more benefit to the country overall. This benefit is offset by isolated cases of Johhny Foreigner coming to the UK and sponging off the system. The majority come here to seek a better life not simply fester at the bottom of the shitheap ;)I recently read a book called "Bloody Foreigners" and the same clpatrap that you read in the Daily Mail in 2009 was being churned out in 1809

That's the pot calling the kettle black - somebody who works for th egovernment complaining about people sponging off the government - FFS!Do you know anybody that works for the Government has a life of riley in my experience - I know people that work 3 day weeks due to "sick leave" and time off - week in week out...Ever tried to contact somebody at Social Services?Oh she's on leave todayOh she's on sick leave todayOh she's out of the office todayOh she's on a sabbatical Oh she's on a course today3 months later - oh she's been promoted now and we have a new case officer...OK I'm off my soap box - that was based on actual experience trying to help an old man that was local to me...

Dunno about that, I work for the government and I struggle to actually get the time off as I'm constantly covering for people in an understaffed office and as I don't have kids and the likes, I'm in during every school holiday, the fiddly bit in-between Christmas/New Year, etc. The longest consecutive period I've ever taken off was a one-off of 3 days and I've been there for nearly 5 years. I manage to whittle my holidays down by taking 1/2 days here and there to cause the minimum of disruption. On top of that, I don't get a lot of money, have little/no promotion prospects and have had any kind of work I enjoyed gradually restructured away from me and given to people who earn more money than me.Some gravy train I'm on!

That's also partly the case outside of the guvverment though. Not got kids? Then you take the holidays that are left.... nothing in August, no half-terms, don't even think about Christmas. There's a handful of people at work who whinge and cry and moan like you wouldn't believe if they can't all book the same weeks off work, because that's the school holidays.

Though presumably the french populace totally ignore this 'law' and get back to the important business in hand of going on strike, smoking and shrugging nonchelantly.

Does anyone in Autoshite land know with whom you can or cannot have a "Civil Partnership" arrangement? I'm a married man with a 26 year old daughter (who's vehicular antics have featured in the Autoshite annals...) My wife's 8 years older than me I wondered if, were she to die before me, would I be allowed to have a civil partnership with my daughter, just to avoid Inheritance Tax on any estate duties she might have to pay?Any answers out there?
