Last minute, unplanned school day collection

Browsing the threads as you do, a week or two ago, something caught my eye.

Something we have history with here at NorthernMonkey towers.

More importantly, something that MrsNorthernMonkey has a real soft spot for, hence the permission for today’s venture.

Here we go...

Another P38 so you can have his, hers and spare? Still a low chance of having a working one, but still....

It’s fine as an occasional means of shite collectioneering but I couldn’t be doing with this crap every morning just to put the bread on the table!

Hints?

Let’s put it this way...it’ll undoubtedly cost significantly more in fuel to get back home than the cost of the train tickets to go and collect it.

Just checking the upcoming connections on my phone.

A 21 minute walk apparently from one station to the other for a train that leaves 28 minutes later.

Could be additional tram action occurring.

Tram now works on touch-in, touch-out card system a la that there London village.

God knows how much it cost me but it was worth it.

Next train boarded with table seat, complimentary copy of Metro paper and working air con. Nice.

Slightly out of chronological order, I know, but this was at half six this morning.

Early morning McDs latte already consumed I’m afraid whilst awaiting first train.

Got a 45 minute stop over at the next station so further caffeine consumption will likely occur.

Could have upgraded to first class here for an additional £14.50 and enjoyed complimentary refreshments but considering the ticket price was only £9.00, I struggled to justify it.

On the subject of coffee, the vehicle being collected is luckily the face-lift version, one of the upgrades being cup holders.

This was a pretty important pre-requisite for the divine MrsNM.

Our time was brief.

The last time I bought one of today’s object of desire was from near here.

Estimated Time of Collection is 11.38 so you have a hour or so.

Let me know when you’re back...I’ll hang on until then.

My collections are your concern.

PO collection is not until 4pm so I will wait until this afternoon to post my CX throttle cable to Venhill who say they can make me a new one.

Carry out the plan.....................

Now in the depths of the Black Country, Smethwick.

Next and final train is running six minutes late due to congestion....can’t complain really considering the through ticket price was £50+ and by splitting it into three separate parts, it’s cost less than £20
