Dare I say it - Retro Rides Gathering...

Right, first off, this is definitely not an opportunity to go "ooh, I hate it there. They have rules n stuff and why would anyone want a car that scrapes its arse on a fag paper that someone's dropped in the road?"

The Retro-Rides Gathering is this weekend, at the Haynes Motor Museum in Zummerzet. I will be there, going down on Saturday (either camping or maybe B&B because I'm not really feeling very tenty at the moment) and hanging about giving magazines away and looking at tasty motors on the Sunday. The track will be open, so cars will be doing more than just sitting around - excellent.

I was going to buy a car that'd be ideal for the trip, or repair one of the ones I had, but instead, I failed to find a good car and sold anything I owned with an engine over 602cc, then bought a non-working Bond. So I'll be in the 2CV. I might not 'track' it this time though as I broke the gearbox at Mallory Park when I got a bit carried away...

Yes, I'll be there. Going down on Saturday, staying in a local pub (can't be arsed with tenting for one night tbh) and then at the museum on the Sunday.Be in the R4 van. Might even get it on the track

Excellent. More French shite! I'll take the necessary documents anyway as I might get tempted to break something on track - though I know what I did last time and I now know not to do it again!

Ohhhhhhh....... So wanted to go to this, but it's WAAAAY too far away, and I'm WAAAAAY too busy anyway!

I will of course be there, flouting my Mazda's hideous handling on the track. At least I'll look cool!

We'll be there, we're going down Friday afternoon and will be there all weekend. You all know what the car looks like, pop over and say hi :)

I've got a few things on my plate this weekend, but mr wobbler, if you'd like to call into Luton on your way back you're welcome to pop in and see how plastic cars with Triumph bits were done before your Bond :D

I won't be there on Saturday as I've got stuffz to do (chap is supposed to be coming to have a look at the Doloshite and I'm meant to be going to fetch my new trackday weapon from somewhere in deepest Kent). I'm hoping to trundle down on the Sunday, but this will necessitate getting out of bed at 5am, and I'm really, really not a morning person so there's a good chance that when my alarm goes off I'll say "fuck it" and go back to sleep. It would be nice to get there though - been meaning to go for years now.

I will not be there all my cars are in a zillion pieces need welding :cry::cry::cry::cry: Ohhh well world isnt going to end is it :D

I really would like to go as well as it would of been good to put faces to the usernames but lack of funds and distance have put fail to that plan sadly, maybe next year...

Would love to be there as it's close by (and the museum is good too). I'd have taken the XM SED (suspension on low setting of course  ), but unfortunately we'll be heading off the opposite way for family hols in the Lakes on the Saturday.

I am not going, but instead going to the VW Festival at Harewood house in Leeds. In celebration of the fact i am going to rattlecan my car black, chop the springs, put fake rust on the bonnet and put a checkered roof on.........

Yup. Bloody good fun that with my only concession to safety being a floppy sunhat. I need more slow people to take part at the Gathering though - I've never, ever finished last in any competitive event that I've taken part in! (A gymkhana earlier this year saw me beat a Rover 200 and a Golf GTi!)
