Because Diablo Red is terrble, and flakes off, the phase 2 revamp of the Xantia made it blander than a Citroen should have been, and the 24v V6s eat camshaft followers and aren't economical enough for 9/10 of the population who expect a 90MPG megawagon for 400 shells. Sadly.

Aye you can. I put a deposit on this R reg one for 350 quid then in the 24hrs between me putting down the deposit and going to get it, it chucked it probably saving me a word of pain.

Don't think you can. The same goes for the Activa. The French got the option of a V6, we didn't - we got the 2 litre 8v XU 'CT' donkey that droned through Paris in Ronin. 

 

Activas are something else. SCTSH_ANDY has one and the sensation of staying dead level is very weird indeed.

I do agree though. Phase 1 is much sharper in the styling department. I like diablo red though.

You sure? I have never seen a Phase 1 V6 - did it use the 12 valve engine? Could we buy them at the time? Same goes for the Activa.

 

Diablo Red's a nice enough colour, it's just a swine to look after. I know of several people who had DR 306s and were driven to the point of insanity trying to rectify the blistering and general malaise encountered 'twixt Pogweaseling and the dealer not caring less.

Shit the bed!! I literally cannot remember the last time I saw an early one of these. My mum had one of these (the more 'upmarket' super no less, with the plastic grille) in around 1993/94. It was black on a Y plate and wouldn't start whenever it had rained. Reminds me of getting stuck halfway up a very steep hill near moss bank in St. Helens because it lost all power in a downpour, and a 6 year old me 'helping' some kind passer by push it.
