That old chestnut!

Just don't buy it until the mot is done. It is annoying though why do they not just get it done before advertising it?

Because they know someone who can do an "MOT" over the phone?

It could be the same with any car though. Any car on gumtree with a full MOT could have a toffee one you'd never know.

You can check the MOT station if you have the v5, if the new MOT was done it Dudley and the car's in Edinburgh then it's probably not a good sign.

Cos by the time a bunch of punters have come along and 'wasted your time' by literally poking holes in it your full years mot is less so.  I think it's a lot because many get hung up on buying a car with mot instead of using their eyes/blind faith. Sold with a year's ticket implies its kosher init.

Looks a lot of car for the money to me.

You're welcome to it, then.

I've bought plenty of cars on blind faith before, including from "trusted sellers" on here.

Every single one was an utter dog.

Thanks 🙏 Just to clarify does this offer include the asking, the 4.5 k ULEZ fees id incur in a year and a couple of bags to cover fuel?

If not it's not for me. The purchase price alone is 600 quid more than I've paid for any other car/van.

Old diesels are going to be pretty worthless to many soon. For me it's not worth getting a diesel as Bristol CAZ is £9 a day to enter. I go through it enough that the charge would get annoying. Especially when I can get a (more reliable/simpler) petrol for similar money second hand.

I've finished a job application this morning, but I still have the laptop out...
Time for some car hunting, then.

As usual there's fuck-all in Aberdeenshire besides overpriced scrap. Stuff that's just failed MOTs for well into 4-figures, etc.

Anyway, I widened the search radius and found this honey.

A wee Getz with a 1.4 petrol in it. Bet that's adequate in a car that size.

It does have an advisory for "rear axle heavily corroded" though. Hmm.

Seriously, who on here wouldn't want an Amby like that? It's not *too* band price wise and has had some welding in the past, but not too much perhaps. Interesting advisory on the 2006 MOT - 'vin number and make of vehicle different to v5' - but never comes up again.

File under wish I could afford it.
