It was Theo Gillam's car- which I tried to buy about 10 years back. We couldn't agree on value, although we got pretty close.

Didn't run right then, still doesn't. Having sat in his back garden for a few years he sold it to Sam last year, but having seen it recently in his hangar, I strongly agree with his decision to punt on.

 

Its still do-able, but it needs a lot of time/ money -and when you're running a fleet, that's difficult.

 

End of the day, its more fun to find a good one in its ''home environment'', something Sam excels at.

 

Actually, it runs rather well – Theo fitted new injectors. Not that much makes much difference – judging by the sorts of people who've been asking questions on eBay, it'll be coming to a glorious end, V8-powered, on a short oval.
