Ooooff ! I think a bit of Courriel action may be in order.

No mention of Controle Technique or rot. I can only imagine a lack of the former and abundance of the latter ?

Apparerently these VM units also found their way on BL stuff such as the SD1 in the 80s. Any experience of them, anyone ?

Hilariously unrefined, quite gutsy, amusing turbo lag, about as tolerant of neglect as a K-Series but with four head gaskets that will probably fail.

I flipping love em, admittedly i've never tried a 2.0 (only the 2.5 which is mega) and would not be surprised if it was as slow as a bastard, still would though.

Not on t'internetz, but there's a 405 TD estate nearby, up for £450. Faded red, peeling lacquer, the works. I can get photos and attempt to contact the seller if anyone's interested?

“Unfinished project. needs tidying, hood needs fitting. Needs to be trailered away. Then attacked with a fucking axe, have petrol poured over it, set fire to, and it's smouldering remains chopped up and snorted by Pete Docherty"*

(I may have made some of that up)

£500 quid start, no log book, no Mot, needs SVA, runs like a three legged donkey. What could possibly go RONG?

sounds ideal !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8DTL6KmIT0 >>> i can see what you mean by "unrefined". Although, is the 2.4 from a different origin ?

I initially thought the Volvo looked madly appealing. I then saw the interior pictures and ran off screaming.

They got such a massive panning off CAR back in the day for being SHITE in all departments.

Yes, Wikipedia seems impressed:

The car has been described as slow, unrefined and "pedestrian" when used on the roads, although its off-road performance has been given praise by some reviewers.[6] European reviews have also drawn attention to the standard of the interior and the original engine being underpowered, sluggish, noisy and idling poorly when cold.[7] With respect to its power and handling, British television program "Fifth Gear" referred to the Safari as having "about as much finesse as a three-legged giraffe"

I'm very tempted, sounds excellent!

My Mechanic thinks that it is the coils that need replacing.

So replace them then, you spaktard, and then sell it for moar munneee! Or are you telling fibbers?

The drivers window needs a new regulator fitted too

Anything else?

there is nothing else wrong with the vehicle.

Yes there is, it's a 16 year old Renault.
