The parents of an old school friend owned or leased one identical to that brand new in 1990/91. I can't recall the reg of that car but as it's Norfolk reg and it's still there I wouldn't mind betting that it could be the very same car. Spooky. :shock:

 

It's hard to get any more miserable than an early mark 5 Escort unPopular.

Method of mounting engine to car interesting

Can't see owt wrong with it myself.  Two 13mm bolts through a bit of 1mm tin is a perfectly acceptable* way to mount a car engine.
