Im desperately trying to buy something but everythings either insurance non-compliant or in France. Thanks to everyone who offered to help out with that Astra. Not to be sadly, as Esure wont quote on it for me for some honestly completely unfathomable reason.

That's lovely. If only I had room, and time. As well as being a left-hooker it seems to have keep-fit rear windows and seat adjustment so could be a bASe trim level not sold in this country with the V6. Plus I think I'm right in saying the LHD V6s got the fully powered Diravi steering which was deemed too good pour les Rosbifs.

Isn't the 1.8 rubbish anyway? Can't imagine it being paired with a prehistoric auto is much cop.

GM Family II engine so should be fairly robust, albeit slow hauling a Carlton about. Not sure what autos they had, but if it's similar to my Cav's one it'll be a smooth affair.

 

I might go and have a look after work tomorrow as it's only in Chiswick. Cue the Bottom quote...

The Punto looks nice - we had a 1995 one and it was very reliable - it only broke down once, at 7 years old, after being stuck in a massive traffic jam on the M1 for ages when it overheated - the electric fan had failed. One new radiator later, fitted the same day, and it was back to normal.

I just phoned up about this, and as suspected it's cheap for a reason.  The two rear windows have been smashed in, and someone has tried to crowbar a front door open.   They had it up for £1,500 before the damage, but updating the advert might be an idea.

 

Quite relieved actually as it's saved me buying another car I don't need.
