RHD Lincoln with HGF.

I don't think much of the back end mind.  Looks like a Chinese design from about 10 years ago.

Check this out. Beige, four-speed BASE BX with manual choke, keep fit windows and the nastiest vinyl interior I've ever seen. I've never clocked one of these before - we never got the base spec models over here, but even the French usually plumped for cloth seats. Even the door cards are horrid cheap grey vinyl! The guy will swap it for a 50cc moped, too, which sounds like a potentially fun collection trip...

I don't think there was ever a BX 11 for the French market, 14 was the smallest you could get, but I thought they were all five speeders - imagine how undergeared it must be! Proper hair shirt stuff

If I was younger, braver and had more free time I'd probably do that, despite the fact that riding a 50cc ped to Perigeaux would be more enjoyable than sitting on those seats for the journey back...

On the subject of unusual specs, I don't recall ever seeing one of these before. It's an 'Image' apparently, which means top-spec TZ interior but the de-tuned '15' engine (we never got that over here). I reckon it looks well smart in charcoal with red pinstripe and matching interior, and it's only a grand. I'd quite like to have this one, actually

I wonder if that BX has a Douvrin suitcase instead of a TU3? Pretty sure the latter never had a 4 speed attached....

The vinyl seats look gross too. That and the milky porridge beige make it look like some sort of weird commercial spec car. I note it has a second mirror and rubbing strips, last E spec car i saw had neither of those.

Posted

Yeah I reckon it'll be o e of the last of the suitcases! It's just flippin' mega in so many ways, but at the same time totally horrid. I'd love somebody else to buy it.

Posted

Won't it be a 1580 xu engine?

Edit: ignore this I thought you were talking about the 'BX15'

Posted

Nah, the beige base one will be a 14, so either suitcase or TU.

The black one has the 1580 but it's the funny de-tuned version we never got here

That's got the horrid vinyl too by the look of it, and no glovebox lid!! That's deffo the top/bottom trumps of shitty BXs, well found!

Thats just gone on my watch list. If it is still about in the new year I might do something silly again. I haven't had a Wraith (long wheelbase Shadow) and could use the lump out of the Spur now it is running.

£831 is megabarg territory; was it an Autoshiter with cast iron testes?

Look at the grim headrests too! WTF are those about.

Someone needs to import a weird trim/spec BX sometime soon to contrast with Barretts ultra colour spec one. Something like a DTR with check cloth or that 14 with 'wipe clean' vinyl.

I don't want be that person but feel I have just nominated myself.

Top of the range Samara.  I had one identical to this (apart from being a saloon) about 12 years ago - it was a bit pants to be honest, but it was an 8 year old motor with low mileage for 300 quid so I wasn't going to complain.

Overpriced Estafette.  Doesn't say what year it is, but if it really is one of the first then it'll have a detuned 845cc Dauphine engine and 3-speed 'box, and performance that would make even Kiltox' Maxus blush.

Just when I thought I've seen it all along comes this pile of shit.

It was hitherto not famous enough for me to know it, which has now sadly changed.

How can I unsee it?

My friend was left this famous Morris minor in a will

His friend must have had enemies.

(I actually quite like it)
