This is an unusual one.  LWB low top Smiley with a tailgate at the back.  I'd actually be tempted by this if it weren't in [phlegmy noise]ane[phlegmy noise]i.

Skizzer delivery service to London EC3 available.

Go for it, I'd love to park that up outside my office and say to the ladies on reception "Alright love, hear you've got an insurance company wants fixing? My lad's just bringing the ladders."

By the way, just to show how penny pinching our motor industry was, the rear part of a Sherpa [and the current Pilot] has exactly the same body pressings as the Austin J4, which dates from the early 1960's!! Other parts eminated from the Morris Oxford/Austin Cambridge, and from Land Rover."

Despite its minute development budget and parts bin origins early Sherpas are vastly better than the 60' tat that they resemble (transit excepted) I've used but not owned a 4x4 and they were good with the 2 litre O series. Missing prop shaft easily and very cheaply made up, reason for its removal might be more expensive to fix though. 200/300 TDI would make it go very smartly.

Yeah, good point about the question of why it was removed. Wasn't aware another could be made up cheaply though, just assumed it would be impossible either physically or financially. It'd be a massive shame if it got weighed in or something, be nice to get it back useable with as much original gear as possible.

I'm trying to picture you saying that.  It's not working. :-D

There are a few places that make up propshafts for kitcars, there was one in Luton I visited a few years ago.  That's one problem out of the way for a prospective purchaser, leaving only a trifling few others to deal with

Hmm, shit mopeds and scooters, hey?...

Is there enough Sherpa love on here for as AS crowd fund?

Golly - super-early Supercinq looking very spiffy and not insanely priced.  Jut frisbee those trimz for added authenticity.

I much prefer the pre-facelift look on these, with more grey, fewer spoilers and less tinsel.  Really pretty cars.

Contrary to the English, the Austrians still remember what woeful pieces of shit they are.

Spot on, the only ones remotely interesting were the higher powered RS ones which still weren't that quick at the time. 1100 and 1300 models-the most common-were no better and in some cases inferior to the competition. I'm totally bewildered why these are worth so much.

I was just about to say this is really cheap for one of these, and also appealingly brown.  But I've now realised it's another scam.

Have a pic/link anyway.

Scam because implausibly cheap and seller has zero feedback?  Invites contact outside eBay?  What else am I missing?

EDIT:  DVLA says MoT expired last June.

But isn't the mk1 escort one of those where more RS models now exist than were built in the first place

The price is about 25% of what is usual these days too.

Sorry didn't take in the implausibly cheap bit!

That 5 is a brilliant find, Martin. What a lovely car.
