I messaged him with the reg yesterday evening saying I had driven round till I saw his car.  Hopefully he is suitably freaked out.

Message him back asking which one is his, as you've just seen another MGF with the same plate.

Vauxhall Corsa

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Corsa-/172411654949

Me: Ok sell the car to me

Sella: Spares/repair or someone who doesn't mind a very very well used car.

Me: ok
Sella: The car still works and has been driven everyday up until today when my mum got a new car. It's been regularly serviced and mot'd. The current MOT runs out Feb 2017
Me: Sounds ok what else?
Sella: Mechanically im not sure anything is wrong with it, it drives but doesn't sound the best and feels very rickety. It's quite sqeaky, and when you brake the car makes an even louder sqeaky sound. However, this has been looked at numerous times by different garages and nothing can be found wrong with it!
Me: Sounds fucked, anything else
Sella: The right indicator is a bit hit and miss. It goes on when the lever is pushed up but when you put the lever back down to off the indicator still stays flashing! If you keep putting it up and down it eventually sorts itself out. We've been told this is an easy fix but haven't had it done as it's only just started doing it.
Me: ummm
Sella: The actual car itself is very tired. The exterior isn't too bad looking but there's no hubcaps on the wheels so they're looking quite rusty. The interior needs a really really good clean.
Me: actually just stop
Sella: We only have one key and if you look at the pics you'll see the buttons are completely missing and don't work at all. The car has to be locked and unlocked manually.

Me: Cheerio then

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My jaguar xj40 for sale, this is a non runner and is suitable for spares or a full restoration. It is the straight six with automatic transmission. If you bid for this vehicle please read the description carefully it will need a truck to take it away, thanks in advance.

Yeah, good work cowboy.

Nobody on here ever complains about "buyers" messing them about...

I think seller was refusing to tell reg no for fear of being cloned. but left the reg number on full display in one of his pics.

Sella has been clowned

I read the back story, thanks.

Yeah, but I am not a buyer.

I was a potential buyer up until the point of finding out it didn't have the engine I was after.

If he hadn't needlessly been a bit of a paranoid freak and wasted 3 minutes of my time I would have just carried on to the next advert.

There was one of these on the show scene over here about 25 years ago, based on a Toronado (probably "easier" to stretch being FWD).   It generally appeared towing a Bianchina Giardinera (posh Fiat 500 estate) in matching colour scheme.

There was also a Checker Aerobus around at one point. It's basically a Checker cab with a huge stretch and station wagon back end. I believe it ended it's days on the banger track at one of the Firecracker events at arena Essex a few years ago, if it was the same one. Can't imagine there being very many about over here though?

I'll leave it...not the time or place.

I have more informations but rather than clutter this thread up I have put it in Shite Picture thread!

But you saw his advert, read that he didn't like texts or emails so just emailed him anyway? Why didn't you just ring him, ask him what engine it was and if you could view the car before the end of the listing? If he'd have said no, you could have just moved on and not fretted yourself over something pointless.

'eye-catching art work'

s-l1600.jpg

WTAF? It's not only playing havoc with my OCD, but the 'eye catching artwork' actually looks more like someone left their frozen peas on the bonnet.

Oh well, at least it couldn't look any worse. It's not like they've no-more-nails-ed a 1971 Watford Gap Services bog seat to the driver's door or anything.

Nice to see a v6 45 that isn't silver for a change! How do they compare to 75s?

upgrade those 45's with this splendid early cream leather interior

Seller seems to be reluctant to show you the drivers seat for some reason

s-l1600.jpg

He's selling a fucking interior and manages to get his hand over the pic of the drivers seat. How do these people manage to feed and clothe themselves? The mind boggles.

Some fool had run it on veg and as far as I can tell they don't like it, the state of the oil coming out of the engine wasn't a good sign either.

That engine is one of the best I've tried running on veg. [/fool]
