'Plant early in Novermber, leave a few months then sell. Occasionally water the arch areas with brown rain'

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-metro-/152242639411?hash=item23725e5233:g:1zUAAOSwNRdX2oCp

Surprisingly, that actually has a current MOT until November and an excellent pass history with no mention of corrosion for the last few years - not that you'd know it by the description or the photos.  An uber-basic 1.1C too, not even a full rear bumper and presumably carb-fed K-Series goodness.

Since I opened the link to that Wolseley Six in Denmark, internet marketing magic has aimed all sorts of desirable tatverts my way including two '69 Eldorado Coupes.

So much more gorgeous than the far more common convertible.

Ooof! I love those with the mega cheapskate bumper. I wonder if it still has the little black plastic hubcaps under the posh wheeltrims someone has fitted?

i don't think the sills on this should be body coloured, i think they should be black, as should the bumpers, door handles and back spoiler.

i think the white edition MG metro came out in 1987 or 1988, but not 1986?

My dad's one in (I think 86) C reg anyway.

Welcome to Our Trade Sales Auction:

We use this account to sell our genuine part exchange cars that do not meet our high 'retail' standards but are simply too good to send to a trade auction. All cars listed are physical and have been driven and have had a visual appraisal, also any known faults told to us by customer are highlighted here. They are accompanied with a detailed inspection which is by no means comprehensive. We welcome any further viewing / test drive or inspection and all cars are sold on a 'trade sale' basis with no warranty implied or given but at a genuine bargain price from a trusted, professional prestige dealer.

Is that actually something a trader can say if he knows he's selling to the public ?

Yes, my C reg Metro Turdo and later an E reg 1275 Sport, both had white sills (when I T-Cutted away the rust stains)

From what I understand they can't negate their obligations under the SOGA by saying something like that.

Who cares, its clear enough is it not, how can anyone be misled?

It's clear that the dealer wants to avoid his legal obligations under the Retail Goods acts, by offering the same warranty as a privateer.  But that would be like Samsung saying. Hey these phones are nice, but if you want one you need to get it tested by your own experts.  I'm Just not sure you can actually sign away your legal rights as a consumer just like that.

Yes as documented elsewhere, my dad traded this in for a 205GTI 2 years later as the MG had turned mostly orange!

The other option is dealers don't sell 'em and they all get fragged.
