Now,it might just be me, but I'm sure I've never seen another 60's 70's estate car with a full length sunroof., is there a reason for this? Weaker roof panels because of extra length perhaps, or just that more practical estate car buyers eschewed such fripperies in favour of roof racks.

Well it certainly isn't the only Y10 GTie left like he claims

When I first saw this I was gonna mock anyone wanting a 176k, 15 owner, mileage discrepancy P38.

Then I read the add and thought, yeah maybe worth a go.

I have owned this car for 3 years and I am now selling to buy a new discovery.  The car has been well cared for.  I own a garage business and have carried out lots of work with the intention of being able to drive anywhere in the country should the situation arise. I have rebuilt the engine with top hat liners by sep of kegworth, decked block, skimmed head, timing chain, new bearings and piston rings, camshaft, all seals and gaskets. New parts fitted radiator, thermostat, gearbox oil and filter, anti roll bar links, propshaft uj's, lambda sensors, cat back exhaust, tailgate straps, air suspension compressor, in tank pump, spark plugs and leads, water pump, starter motor,

Ain't that lot just a normal lot of yearly perishables for one of these?

You would need thick skin showing this as your new car to your mates down the pub.

"leather interior, it's the bollocks"

Only a 2 litre so progress may be sedate, but this looks good for £395.

Pleasant interior furnishings too, if you like beige and brown.

You'd be surprised, Rob. My first long term (for me) use of that engine was in an Omega and I was v.happy with performance.

A 2.0 automatic Omega?

Christ.

Wasn't there also a 2.0 8v select?

The mind boggles.

Been sat MOT-less in a garage since 2007/8 though so I reckon there's a reason he hasn't MOT'd it.

I wonder if that xr4x4 has been restored as a result of a massive frontal impact? It does look very clean though,

^ that Merc would go really well with the wob-filled SL that Raymanboy was trying to shift for about 100 years, same colour scheme as well; I believe inspired by Baron von Richthofen
