WTAF? That GXL looks like it was quite a nice one, right up until some spunk stain ruined it by ripping the roof skin off it, what a genius, about the only part of a Granada that doesn't rot too badly . At least it s repairable by someone with a lot of patience , a drill and a spot welder.

Do it! They are chuffing ace, I drove mine into work today and enjoyed it as much as ever. With the cam belt having been done and a new MoT this one would be a great buy for somewhere between £500 and a grand. Mine was at the bottom end of that margin, ostensibly with lower mileage but the history is dubious and it will need the belt done if it’s to be a long-term proposition.

 

1990s Toyota/Lexus build quality is really very good and there isn’t anything too complex to go wrong, unlike later 430 models. Control arms on the front suspension are probably the worst thing.

 

Befriend your local banger racers and you’d get yourself a source of parts, loads are being raced at the moment.
