That Polo is hilariously bad! It could only be improved by being burnt then crushed into tiny, tiny pieces.

+10 scene points

Indeed.

Why do old camper vans hold their value so well? Is it the practicality or does people liking them for no particular reason send the value up? I remember looking for one years ago and even the really bad, virtually ready for scrap examples were going for a few grand.

perfume manufacturers buy them up in bulk.

the stale sweat and faint whiff of piss they can wring out the insulation is the ideal start point for creating an elegant* fragrance

About 10 years ago when I still had hair, ambition and goals, these were a lot cheaper and I was seriously considering one 'when they come down a bit more'.

That colour with those wheels would have been my ideal spec.

Oh well another boat not just missed, but fallen off the back and chopped up by the propellor.

That Conti has been for sale for ages, at least most of this year. I suggested to him that I would buy it at the price he is now starting the bidding at but he wouldn't have it. He wanted a lot more to begin with, may have been as high as 32k. It's the same colour as mine and the wheels are lovely. I really like Contis they are beautiful in the flesh. If I had and then been lumbered with the inevitable big bill, I would have been fucked, like Ze Germans! :)

"Rover 75 - Cowley - Personal Line".  A lot to like.

I've been agonising over this for the last 48 hours.  It's as close as I've found to my perfect R75 (having had 2 already) - and if it was a 2.5 I'd have it at home now.

Then again, this is Autoshite.  Surely an unloved car in basic spec with a niche interest interior and an engine that got dropped is what we're all about?

More beard scratching to follow...

Buy it, scratch beard later. It only needs a set of steel wheels to score max points. (If we ignore the leakroof)

£825 - and I bet if you rocked up with a roll of grubby £20's it could be had for less.

Bloody lovely, shame its not got cows inside, but really bloody lovely. I would.

That's the appeal TBH. Personal line cloth was a very expensive option, from memory you could get into a connoisseur for the same price.

There was one about 3 years ago for sale in Old English White (the pinnacle of Rover hues) with red cloth, and it looked the bloody bees knees.

Who'd be up for Autoshite Wedding Carsâ„¢?

Its lovely, I reckon that's probably my ideal spec of Rover 75. There's 2.0V6 manual one for sale on the Wirral in that colour, I'd love it but its currently TMFM.

In part it is the interiors I believe, because the sink, toilet, shower, cooker, hob, fridge etc. bits would be worth several hundred just as parts.

How really weird and the polar opposite of other Rover cars for sale at that time.

Still bloody lovely and how I wish I had a lock up somewhere ( on the coucil waiting list for one of the 12 remaining lock ups in the borough)
