I'm sure this was up for 3999 now it's 2999 bins with best offer, which doesn't seem horribly priced for an S1. A manual box too so gr8 for drifting although I hear the 2.8 isn't all that great.

100% the best looking XJ they made, think the 2.8s have a rep for holing pistons.

Not that far from me if anyone wants me to cast an eye over it.

This week how a Mini should look like..

..next week it'll probably have a 'Mini owners do it...' sticker in the back window, six foot wide corrugated tin wheel arches and some spazzy exhaust. And a stolen Allegro engine.

I like how they proudly put the power figure in a bolded larger font. As if 78 was something to be proud of.

I thought these were pokier than that? I know they're not heavy, but less than 80 aint great.

Compared to the nat-asp 205 diesel that made 59bhp, 78bhp probably puts your eyeballs into the back of your skull when you accelerate.

This was my first Jag , 2.8 man o/d . It was faster than my Executive but more importantly for an 18 year old with no money ,loads more economical. Of course I put paid to that by engine raping an immaculate S2 4.2, it became quite fast but never really a drift machine because of all the pretty yellow crayon marks around the back axle( oh,for the days when blank MOTs were £25 and postmistresses didn't notice if you filled them out in pencil). Swapped it for a 3.0 GXL Capri in 1982 can't imagine it lasted much past then.

Sorry don't know why ithe pictures sideways.

Bloody hell, somebody must have welded it ( or rung it!) and maybe turned it into a wedding car.

I would love to make this work really nicely, leave it looking like it is for the most part and just use the hell out of it. I wonder if a more modern Suzuki/Vauxhall 3-cylinder or something similar could work in it for a bit of extra grunt without being over the top.

The same seller also has a completely average looking diesel Carina E with only* 79,700 miles for a mere £1250. On the plus side it does have 4 electric windows, 3 of which are functional.

Serious question: am I being unfair in thinking this guy is a complete fucking chancer?

A white Calibra with the seller after a family car ...

My crystal balls foresee the seller of that vehicle being offered a p/ex with a Mondeo.

I have no idea why this car attracts nobs who festoon it with daft steering wheels and gear knobs:

I had to remove similar rubbish after I had bought it.
Also, it's not a 3500S. It's an automatic that was downgraded with an LT77 box, which necessitated adding a pedal.

It looked like this when I had it:

It's this car that made me swear to never again overhaul the rear brakes of one of these.

Four times later...
