This must be the most expensive R8 of recent years, maybe it will be like when a 250 California Spyder sells for £15million and suddenly scabby 400 Autos are worth £25k.

There was some recent discussion around the use of two tone paintwork, which I agree looks great when properly executed (usually on big slab-sided things like Laurels and such). This 'special order' looks terrible though. I hope the dealer that took the order did their best to dissuade the customer from specifying it this way.

I like that!  It's kind of the reverse of the higher-spec R8s with the grey below the trim line.

I do not, however, like the price.  Mind you, if they can get anywhere near that amount for it, good on them.

The pics don't show what a bonny thing these are, always rare, there can't be many left in the UK. 1972 FIAT 130 Coupe

Are these still required in Africa?

Last pics I saw from Botswana, they have moved on to brand new BMW and Audi SUVs.

North Africa, yes. Southern Africa, no. Jap pick-ups wanted in the South.  But these are so rare and old now that they are worth more here.

'Not working'

Doesn't the term 'not working' apply to actors who hang around in pubs and bust kettles? Always makes me laugh when it's applied to cars.

Anyway, wonder why. Mileage seems suspicious at the very round figure of 83,000 exactly.

Actually, the term "Barn Find" in classic car lingo does not necessarily describe the purpose of the structure in which it was stored.

What clashes is the word "restoration" in this context. "Barn Find" is used to describe classic cars, that have survived in such a good condition, that they shouldn't be restored.
