LOL at the Magnum. I forgot they existed, but the Mexicans loved it.

Is 2000 euros cheap for a battered Ami? I s'pose if it's rust free and mechanically sound then just maybe... 90,000 KMs, hmm. More like 190. I find the French rarely sell until their old cars are worn out and won't run properly anymore.

Are these gunna go the same way as H-vans? Shirely Knott.

They are already heading that way sadly. Since one sold for 12k last year everybody and his uncle are digging out their Amis and punting them on for huge figures. Just check the amount of e10k + examples on lbc. Annoyingly, whereas an H Van is a pretty miserable old thing, I can't think of anything else as stylish or fun to drive as a nice Ami 6. I spend about 85% of my day looking at them and it turns out the one Junkman posted has already been enquired about, the seller made noises like he had a buyer and then went quiet so we left it. It's also about as far south as you can go (only chance for a non-rusty one, sadly).

The white one was in the running a while back but discarded when the chap sent more photos of the underside. Needs floors, sills and probably chassis all doing really. And the interior is shot. ho hum, onw day I'll find 'the one'

I think we've missed the boat Barrett. I am also highly desiring of an Ami 6 saloon.

Hey DW, I'm just waiting for P.Sparrow to come to his senses and sell me his horrible old shed of a 6. But they are still out there if you dedicate most of your working day to tracking them down. Cheap ones sell quick though and most Frenchies can't be arsed with the extra hassle a UK-based buyer brings, even one who speaks perfect French

That red Metro belongs to a chap I know, I was offered it for £1000 a couple of years back (you may remember me posting on here about it). It's been in storage since but he's now decided to profit from it so has pumped the tyres and suspension up on it. I'm still half tempted to be fair.

It looks nice. MG Metros seem to be getting pretty salty as well, which is ironic as that's mostly what killed them

The wheels are too big and it's a sludgematic but it still looks hot. I'd really like to try one of these to see how it matched up to the Cortina. My old boy had 2-3 of them when I was a kid (including a high octane 1300) and liked them but he never really rated them against the Cortina.

It's an Insignia, that's what. The owner probably hates it. I drove one to Belfast and back, that's 28 miles and I hated it. It was a 1.8 as well, and wouldn't pull a sailor off your sister. Thirsty, difficult to see out of and fugly.

If they are it's a bit sad - how can you run a business from an Ami like you can a VanH? Equally sad how the big vans have gone. Not sure about your "miserable old" comment regarding them - when I last drove one regularly in the mid 90s, they made a Transit feel utterly, utterly crap. Other than on a motorway. Brakes, handling, comfort, they don't knacker your clutch knee and so on. All dis-regarding the fact they are charming and one of the famous three Citroëns.

That white one looked ok to me - sure, sills - but the chassis and most else looked good, remember the steel quality.

Of course an Ami8 makes loads more sense, but of course it looks slightly pretty, rather than Ford Anglia odd. Let me know if you'd like one. !!

That Bronco - let me guess, people are painting them white and speeding up and down motorways looking for helicopters?

VP Princess 4.0R prick up - who in their right mind etc.

COMPLETE VEHICLE THAT REQUIRES FINISHING

So it's not complete then?

If I had the skills, resources, time and cash I would like to take that on, get it properly finished.

But I havn't, so it is probably doomed.

I like BMC Farinas and I like car-based pickups but this would be a better bet:

Has the Riley grille too which is my favourite.  Ã‚£3500

It's a long way from home though.
