Was it one of these that self-immolated in Longleat's Lion Enclosure at the weekend?

No,it was a late shape Ullysee ,I think. An Espace would never have done that,there wouldn't have been anything to cause a spark ,assuming by some miracle one had managed to drag itself to Longleat in the first place.

This looks rather tidy and very well priced for a dealer.

I have a confession to make.

In 1988 I snapped off the indicator stalk of an identical 2.0 Mayfair Montego, I was sulking that the transport manager was making me use it to on holiday, so pretended it fell off ! It worked and I ended up using a green 2.2 CDi Carlton instead, it's taken 25 years, but seeing this little gem has made me feel guilty.

I am drawn to this thing.

 

I love those 'S' wheel embellishers in the same way I want a 2.5 Pi largely for it's fake rostyles.

 

I want if for the later well stocked dash and that bonkers spare wheel on the boot.

 

Most of all I want it to max it for mile after mile on a drenched motorway one midnight smoking a cigar and listening to Bert Kamphert.

I'd forgotten just how much I like these. Makes a MK4/5 Escort look a bit, well, shit really.
