Because it looks nice, and handles very well. That conversion will give you 50+mpg, so it can be used instead of a normal dull dizzler. Not everyone can afford to run a petrol coupe everyday.

I still plan to convert a mk2 Scirocco to tdi at some point

sorry - don't get it.

might have been a saving in 1995 but the eye watering cost of diesel these days...

'Hello, Stupid & Co Customs, how can I help?'

'CAN YOU DO ME A PICTURE OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IN A BRA WITH JONNY ROTTEN LOOKING ON A AS AN F1 CAR NEARLY RUNS OVER RICK PARFITT WHO HAS GROWN A PAIR OF TITS?'

Yes of course, sir, no problem.

Viewing possible Saturday if flood waters leading to storage has subsided enough

Try opening the drivers side doors, that should let a bit out.

As a younnggg boy [err... likely 9] a giffa guy had one of these to 'banger'...reelly!!

He took the front wings off & glass out and painted it up a bit. Seem to remember a thin rim wheel and odd shaped instruments in dash.

I saw it 'unmolested/scrap yard fodder' first, parked at the old 10pin bowls in South Shields, then a week later 'fully modded'.... dunno what happened after that.

This was the only car big enough to transport the mother inlaw's coffin..

Weighing in at over two tons (thats her NOT the car), the Volvo did us proud..

I would also like to thank Surrey firefighters for providing the crane that winched her out of her cage.

Getting hard to find now

Clearly he's never been to Scotland.
