Renault 16TS 1969

Unfortuately, over the weekend it suffered an extreme overheating event, with the consequence that it now needs some engine work. It is not seized, it still turns over on the starter, but I dont want to tempt fate by starting it.

Nothing says "Monaco" like a sea of grey plastic:

I always fancied one of these for some reason (1987 R25 Monaco).
Beige plastic - much better?

Nice car and a fair price, my mother has an identical one. The seller is a bullshitter though it does not have air conditioning as stated in the advert.

Is that not the venerable snowflake of truth?

I'm not up on Renault 17 specs, I just know they're great looking cars - never seen one with a fold back roof like this?

Must be worth saving...

My (poor) memory recalls both 15's & 17's with those. 20's on had solid sunroofs IIRC

It was on option on the 17 and was electrically operated. With the legendary reliability* of electrical systems on French cars, it's just as well that a hard top was also supplied.
