However, the fact it's survived in the gorgeous Maltese climate for the last 40 years, only to be dragged to our damp, salty isle makes me a little sad. I always loved seeing the old motors when visiting Malta as a kid - it was great to see cars which had become rare over here due to rot. I'd be surprised if there are any mk1 Escrots remaining there by now. Mr Laurence 1

Last MOT ran out in 2015, so theoretically it's not totally rotten. Maybe. Tubbo 1

Malta isn’t a huge place, but in recent years, it seems like a huge amount of interesting old stuff is being brought over here from there. It can’t be long before most of it is gone. You could certainly make the argument that these old cars form part of Malta’s identity, so taking all of them away does seem a shame Dick Cheeseburger 1

Supply and demand wins though and the Maltese have clearly worked out it's financially rewarding to sell their non-rusty classics for large sums to deranged Brits! Mr Laurence 1

I would like to imagine that there's a 6 litre v8 with supercharger, causing the need for the hen house but i doubt it. I just think it's so different and in your face that it deserves looking after.

Glad I got to experience it while it lasted. Yoss and strangeangel 2
