eBay tat volume 3.

Just as a general comment, new laws are afoot in France regarding rust and the CT. They were supposed to be introduced this summer, but have been put back till the end of this year....up till now, structural rot was not a fail and generally just ignored here, but will now no longer pass the test and apprently obvious plating is not acceptable as a repair....welding will need to be invisible...ie full on restoration-spec letting in new metal rather than a "just one more test" patch cut from an old washing machine and lashed on.

Expect a flood of older cars for sale cheap(ish) as they become impossible to CT.

I find it extraordinary that it's possible to pick up an MOT'd and running one of these for a monkey.  Even with the comedy mileage this one has done.

Yeah, Im not too worried myself, I have lots of expanding foam and chickenwire, but most people cant be bothered with that sort of shenanigans and will sack their cars off in favour of a leased low-spec diesel BMW with a single solitary "M" badge stuck on the bootlid.

Some bloke has been trying to shift that AX for months now. He got it cheap on eBay (sub £300?) and has been trying to get £995, then 695, and now less for it ever since.

The stripes were also added by him. Great* sales technique.

I really hate these eBay flippers. I don't mind traders making money but these eBay amateurs are just so obvious and cynical.

Ha ha, I liked the first one because it's an old car-derived van but then swapped when I scrolled down and saw the nicer one!

1 bid at £500. Looking at the MOT history though it needs a bit spent:

  • Offside Rear Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
  • fan belt noisy
  • front disc worn and have lip
  • exhaust rusted
  • Offside Rear worn on the edge
  • check tracking
  • Nearside Front rack end slight play
  • Offside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)
  • Offside Front Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)
