I've got one for my 2005 Avensis too but I can't be arsed as it'd mean a day off work.

Did one on our 2001 318, they gave us a voucher for a free meal at the local pub as it would take them a couple of hours, we then swanned around the new cars a bit and drank their fancy free drinks. They even cleaned it for us.

Am fairly certain that Blackpool Honda will find* plenty of other critical things that need* doing at the same time for ££££££,s.

Not that they will be done by them or indeed at all if not real.

I like how they’ve phrased it as ‘metal fragments may be propelled into the vehicle compartment’ as opposed to ‘shrapnel will be implanted directly into your face’.

Army recruitment poster material right there - adding 'ear plugs' optional.

Had this for the Outback last year. Many tales of woe for damaged dashboards, rattles after being done and shit being missed with screws and fixings left over. Mine was ok but 14 pages on the legacy forum about it.

Had this a couple of years back on the Jazz, all sorted with no issues thankfully.

My Mazda had this done today, hopefully they didn't botch it.

Had something simlar on the CRV I think a couple of years ago.

That's the problem with taking it to a dealer, on a production line one guy might put the same 6 screws and clips in day after day but when they strip the dash at a dealer it might be 30 screws and 15 clips all different thrown in a box by somebody who's never done one before , one problem on Mustangs is AC evaporator failure which is the whole dash out , the good thing is a few have been done and dealers are getting recommended , I'd sooner take it 150 miles for it to be done right than have it bodged by the apprentice locally.

Take it and drink as much of their free coffee as you can, may get lucky and they have muffins too

Never, ever, ever had a dealer recall. I clearly have not lived life to the fullest extent. I feel deprived.

I had a dealer recall a couple of years back for my 1991 Mazda 121.  I didn't bother to book it in though.

I had the yellow Jizz done some time ago.

The first attempt was a fucking waste of my morning because they didn't have the part with the correct plug on it (despite having my VIN)

Second attempt got the job done, but I've no idea what they done as the radio was still tuned in (to UK stations on one band). I thought they were meant to disconnect the battery??

You're not missing much from Pentagon Mazda in Lincoln, it was pretty much "sign this" when dropping the car off and "here's your key now fuck off" when picking it up.

My Nissan Almera had a recall for airbags in Oct 2017 and took 2 1/2hrs which was helpful as this happened in Jan 2018:

Both side airbags deployed as I was hit on drivers side and it pushed car up kerb into the tree.
